The railway to Bristol is an engineering marvel of the 19th Century, tunnels, bridges, cuttings etc. The absolute masterwork of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Pretty much everything he built or planned we are still using in the UK 150 years later. Jeremy Clarkson did a great video about him .

Welcome back to your second home, Joel! I lived in Bristol throughout my 20s and yeah, it rocks! No doubt you'll hit the waterfront on your night out, but if you have a minute, turn off Park Street to the left about halfway up (that's with the University tower right at the top) and get yourself up Brandon Hill, for a view - and if the tower is open, and even better view!! Oh - and good shout with the jumper, if you think it's cold there, wait til' you get to Scotland!!

You've learnt, perhaps from last year, about packing as light as possible, especially for a summer trip, but a hoodie is always a good idea- even if you don't need to wear it a lot. It can be so useful on the flight itself, either to wear, because many aircraft are quite cold, or rolled up as a lumbar support or pillow. Looking forward, as always, to the next instalment. Greetings from NZ!

Welcome back Joel. The comments about feeling at home were lovely. As a Brit with an American husband who was an anglophile from a young age, could chime with that feeling. It's a strange feeling to be in another country yet feel so at ease. It happens the reverse way too, one of my friends stayed in Florida and if wasn't for his dog, he would've stayed. Another friend did back in the 80's - went on vacation for 2 weeks and never came back. Since got married and became a US citizen.

Hi Joel. Looks like you're experiencing our great british weather , we can sometimes experience the four seasons in one day. I hope you enjoy your time here in the UK. I live in the UK but I still learn a lot about various places I have not been to through watching your channel. Keep up the great work.

It's exciting to think you are here in the uk again; pleased you had a relaxing first day...enjoying the familiarity and it mirroring the first day you arrived with Will 👍 I hope every single person you meet will be as helpful and friendly as those so far 🤞 [You might be in for a change in the weather though... 😬 which would be a shame, when you think we've just enjoyed a heatwave all through June...!] 💙 stay safe

You can buy miniature bottles of shampoo at all branches of Boots, Superdrug, Wilko, etc. You can take small bottles in carry-on luggage as long as they don’t exceed the prescribed quantity of liquid.

Hi Joel , so pleased to have you back over here in uk 😊 Have a great time and enjoy your stay. I noticed your mum has posted on here! Thats so nice to see. You have the opposite weather to your previous trip ! Heatwave was in June so you just missed it. Thanks for cheering up an older English lady with the last part of the video! 😊

I've always felt the same about America - I feel at home in the USA and UK, I feel like our cultures are so similar (even though we have our differences) I feel like we're more alike than not. You should visit Durham while heading to Newcastle (it's a stop on the way) the Cathedral / Palace Green / Old Bailey is nice, it's very York-esque but much smaller, one of the smallest cities in the UK. I's also the Miners Gala on the 8th - if you're around at that time, it will really open your eyes lmao, Durham will be absolutely packed with people marching and drinking.
