We'll see how it turns out....HAHA.......You know its gonna be awesome. The port wine chips offer great flavor. I will be using them again as well. Liked the Q&A while you are running your still.......Salude!

Just a note, when you get your corn from a feed store kind of place, they usually sell pre=cracked corn as chicken feed for a decent price. (btw, I have some cherry bounce fermentin right now for the holidays!)

Thanks Randy, I had an idea you might as for corn, Yeah it's hard alright if boiling water has trouble getting into it, Smoke will struggle for sure. Thank you mate for the info. Cheers from Australia 🍻🦘👍.

Randy, I see you using your refractometer for determining your proof, do you find it to be accurate? I have one and it doesn’t seem to match up with my glass proofing hydrometer. Wondering what the difference is.

Good lord, your still must compress the heads much better than mine. I use the 7 gallon football shaped column Vevor still. I clamp the column horizontal for a stripping run and vertical for spirit runs. My last stripping run with a corn/blueberry sour mash wash, and about 60 fl oz as what I considered heads. I may be a little more sensitive too but I think that is a very wide difference from your experience to mine.

I know in barbequing, any tree that produces fruit or nuts are safe/good for smoking food. It seems to me that rule should be applicable to smoking grains and aging spirits as well. After all... Scotch uses fossilized rotten plants, animals, and clansfolk...😮 😂
