I believe he then said something like “call me by my name”? If im not mistaken. While i agree with his general view that we should stop making a big deal over race. I think we should be able to describe each other based off of appearance when we dont know each others names, we should be able to say stuff like “the black/white guy in the red shirt” without people getting worked up over it.

@Mvenven

I honestly hate that quote. Ignoring race does nothing to alleviate the legacy of racism in this country. One of the strengths of America is that we have had a racial reckoning and have had to deal with these issues. We talk about race. As bad as the problems are here. We've done the best job at dealing with racial inequality. There's a Black middle class. There's real Black wealth in the U.S. That's not true anywhere in Latin America where most countries are about 10 percent just like here and they just don't talk about it. They don't deal with their racist past. So there is no progress in these countries. You do not see wealthy Black Brazilians, or Colombians, or Venezuelans, or Ecuadorians. You rarely see them in positions of power. If you look at their soccer teams there's clearly plenty of Black people but you don't see represented anywhere else in their media. Colombia does the best job of it but it is still lacking. They don't talk about race and that's the problem.

fun fact! the ones the white man was most brutal towards, the ones they not only enslaved and tortured but even actively tried to eradicate were ......other white people! No seriously, look it up in History! nobody was more savage towards Whites than other Whites and you know what else, that pretty much goes for all the races. Just look what even today some African Tribes do to each other and tell me that is less "inhuman". The Romans were the ones who got it right! It is never a question of Black vs. White or Male vs. Female or whatever, "Homo Homini Lupus", "Men is Wolf to Men".....its basically "Free for all". Do you really think that once there is only one Race on the Planet, no matter if White or Black or inbetween, hatred and violence will stop and everything will be nice and plushy? You think we would not find other Reasons to hate each other? you know like political sides, religious beliefs, wearing glasses.....neither hatred nor violence will ever stop, they are part of Nature and they do not answer to us but to whatever higher Power there is!

I've been black for 55 years. I'm not afraid of white people. Sure, as a teenager, I was accosted by white people. Called the n-word, had a knife pulled on me, etc. But I've also had many more black people use the same language and pull GUNS out on me well into my late 20s. No reason...it just happened. So much so that I decided things might be better if I moved to a different state. Sadly enough, even after moving, when I would go out to a "black" club black people still looked for a reason to argue, threaten, fight, shoot, whatever. But I noticed that this didn't happen when I'd go to "white" clubs. No threats. No violence. Nothing. The government-run industry known as Hollywood is pushing out lies and propaganda faster than we can keep up. Truthfully it always has. Back in the day Hollywood made propaganda-driven films telling everyone to hate certain enemies overseas. Today's propaganda is being used to destroy the country from within.

Your entire existence and the entirety of human existence is based on, stem from and is only possible because of; "a people". Not "a race" - but "a people". From your physical existence, to your physical appearance/traits, your language, values, morals, ethics, culture, traditions, customs, history, identity, symbols, stories/lore, - all the way up to laws, institutions and governance over their own national territories - everything in existence stem from "a people" - and would not exist without "a people". Everything you know, domestic or foreign, familiar or strange - is because of either your own people or some other people. International law for instance is just a agreement between different peoples. Human rights is also because of "a people" - the UN is because of "a people" - everything is because of "a people" - whilst nothing is because of a "skin color" Skin color is just a very unprecise and general racial identity or reference to a general racial feature. But hay, if you are "a race" then good on you.

That's because in today´s views it is acceptable for victimized minorities to be racists. It reminds the movie Invictus, where we see the black population from South Africa wanting to get revenge on the white population after Mandela was elected, but we see Mandela trying to unite the country, including both white and black population. That was a great man. Union makes us stronger as a race, the human race. On the other hand division makes us weaker and ignorant. It brings hate towards our fellow humans. There shouldn´t be us versus them. It should be just all of us. I leave the words of John Lennon " Imagine all the people - Livin' life in peace" . It is a beautiful dream.

Or amounts of the funding for this thing came from mainstream society (including those dreaded white folks). I don't know. Maybe he called around his parents and used their money. A film isn't cheap. Even 'Clerks' cost 30K. Or maybe this is some affirmative action or white guilt thing. Apparently "The American Society of Magical Negroes was developed by Kobi Libii as part of the Sundance's Screenwriters and Directors Lab.". I don't know if that's partial funding or what. But there are no good options. And then people decided to distribute it and have their company's name associated with it.

Whites know better than to go to a "black park" the ones who don't get shot/beaten or if female gang raped and no news on the media about it happening. Im on board. I just had this talk with my White, Christian kids as to why we were cancelling all of our streaming services. I told them that all their Black friends and family they know truly love and accept them, but that rich White guys in Hollywood attempt to bring division among us so they can benefit from our superficial differences. We all agreed that we shouldnt put money in the accounts of people who hate us. I also, ironically, had to teach them not to feel guilty for being White. They didnt do anything wrong and as long as they treat everyone fairly, they are right.
