The accent stereotypes in case of Korea and India are majorly due to mid-age immigrants few decades back. They were new to the English language with their mother tongue tones clearly recognisable. @@kashyap_0-0_ that's truly fortunate that people recognised us there. When I get in touch with our brothers and sisters from other parts of the country. I always thought that they do not learn about us in their school days or not care enough about us to consider us Indian. In our schoold days, we learnt all about India's geography, capital and states and diverse culture. I am proud of being a part of that culture. When, we said 'I'm part of the NorthEast India', it do not come from the mind of division but rather come from the understanding that India is so rich in diversity that we labelled ourselves where we come from to distinguish from the culture difference. I worked for a large multinational company for several years and we worked with folks from Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangaluru. We all spoke English in our various conference calls and their accents were noticeably different. Which really makes sense becuz they all had different mother tongues (Marathi, Telugu, and Kannada), so of course that would influence how they sound in English. One time an Indian co-worker just couldn't understand the accent of my local co-worker, so the local guy started imitating the Indian accent... and then the Indian guy could understand him just fine. that was one of the weirder calls. Did you even watch the whole video? She didn't say that Indians don't have accents, she said that 'Indian accent' is different based on what their mother tongue is.

That's not true. It only shows that u have never been to India. Just visit India and u will see millions of Indians who have never been outside of India and still speaking in that same accent. Yukta is right that it's about the mother tongue. Just keep one thing in mind that we Indians have so many languages.

To my knowledge all indians hav their distinct accent, which may depends on how he learnt or the source. I sound like hybrid of Jupiter and Uranus when i speak 😂
