@@forgot2wipe Cold air intake manufacturers typically dyno test their products with the hood open, thus sucking in cold air from outside the engine bay rather than warm air from inside the engine bay. This is not an issue if you are on the highway, but for a lot of guys sitting in traffic, running light to light, or sitting in the staging lanes at the track, their IAT’s go through the roof, and your cold air intake quickly turns into a hot air intake. The ECU sees 140° intake temps, pulls timing, and you lose power. That’s what he is referring to.

I bet you if he deleted the cats he’d pick up another 2 or 3 tenths in the quarter. I had regular kooks high flow cats, and after ditching them I picked up substantial power. Granted that’s with boost, but even NA I bet he would pick up 15 to 20 HP.

That’s also a common misconception. For this we have to look at history and you can thank Dionysius and Venerable Bede who popularized the AD timeline that we live in. Toss the JLT (because aftermarket CAI's have proven to not add more than a few hp). Steeda made a bold claim 2 yrs ago of 37hp increase with their CAI yet when they ran the car same day just 15 minutes later, it only droppped 1 tenth. Yes from a 11.44 sec to 11.32 sec 1/4 and added 1/2 a mph in the traps. Just drop a K&N drop in in it.

Any reason to go with the high flow catted vs the off road mid pipe? Awesome build up! The more I see how these s550s perform the more I want to park one beside my 2013 s197! BTW nice choice going with Lund for the tune!

@@moisescristobal9740 you clearly don't understand peak horsepower vs average horsepower throughout the curve. All motor record holders are all CJ manifold setups. Steeda ran 9s all motor in their 2018 and guess what manifold they're running? It ain't a damn ported 18, that's for sure. And please don't point me towards the bias VMP comparison video.

Randy Pech 9’s? NA ? Yeah because that CJ manifold was what got them to 9’s... If you think spending over twice as much for that manifold then good for you most people rather save that extra money and put it towards something else unless you’re desperate for every little bit of horse power then go for it but the 18 Ported isn’t that far behind a CJ and please pintpoint me a video of someone else who decides to dyno all the manifolds.

@@moisescristobal9740 I never said 18 mani wasn't a good value because it is. However, in an N/A build, you need every bit you can get. You said it made more power and I was refuting that. It does make more torque though. Tell me how many gen 1 or gen 2 coyotes with an 18 manifold is in the 10s and compare that to CJs in the 10s. I'll wait...

It's rated 460 at the crank. You lose about 15-20% through the transmission which gives you the 389 at the wheels in stock form. And each dyno reads slightly high/low depending on calibration/manufacturer.
