The only $60 bag I could find is 40lbs: that would last most pets weeks…..theres an average of about 2 cups per pound so thats 80 cups- most animals outside the really big ones eat 1 cup per day. So thats being generous 70 days worth of food. Meaning $60 in food stretched across 70 days is less the $1 in food a day for most animals. How is feeding your pet $1 worth of food a day not affordable?

I've been a vet tech for 10 years. Only within the past few years have I seen so many pets being given away or dumped somewhere. I've seen a lot of neglect and abuse cases over the years but people are over extending themselves financially by getting pets they can not afford which then in turn effects the animals as they don't have food to eat or receive proper veterinary care. It breaks my heart when owners ask me where they can adopt out their dog or if we can euthanize because they can no longer afford them. I encourage everyone to get pet insurance to help cover the medical costs, but at the end of the day, if you can't afford the basic stuff like food, treats, toys, you really need to ask yourself if it is right thing to get a pet.

Sometimes we have to combback to traditional way. This formulated dog food makes them sick and can only live for certain years. This is mainly business as usual. If we rrally love our pets and we appreciate their contributions to our lives lets give them fresh food just balance it. Makimg this dog food honestly is very cheap mass production. What ever brand it is. Save your money on your pocket. This petshops will be one stop shop for human and their friend food market

I lived in Oregon before we left in 2022 for central Mexico. We had an 85lb dog and we made his food. When we had a garden we would put overgrown squash and greens in the food but it was always a base of chicken or turkey and rice with some medicinal spices/herbs and coconut oil with vegetables and something like berries in it. We'd cook up a big pot ever few weeks and then spoon it into ziplock bags and big yogurt containers and freeze it. He would sit around wagging his tail on dog food cooking days! He had allergies to that kibble crap and thrived at a healthy weight on the homemade food.
