This was my favourite Silverchair song from Frogstomp, pretty heavy sound from some kids from Newcastle!! They are not 15 here LoL!! They would be mid 20s here!

Nope, 2001 would make them turning 22. Born 1979. Dan the singer is oldest by 6 months born in April, Ben on drums, born in October, Chris on bass born in November. This was made while recording Diorama and were asked to make the trip down from LA where they were recording. Too good a gig to pass up. In front of 300,000 people. Daniel was recovering from or just before he got a severe from of Arthritis which absolutely crippled him. His whole body was affected. He couldn't even stand up or walk. His knees swelled up to triple the size and it hit hardest on his feet, knees and hips. They delayed is the album release because of this, also Sony didn't believe they had enough marketability songs to release on the album and didn't like that the band wasn't as rocky as they used to be. They had a big bust up, chose someone else to finish the album with( producer, mixer) and dropped Sony. Daniel then re-started the defunct EMI record company in Australia with his brother Heath and resigned Silverchair to it. Then they signed up a few other up and coming solos and bands.

They are 21/ 22 here, they started at 12 years, were signed at 15, toured with RHCPs right after they released their 1st song then in USA, this is mid/ after they recorded their 4th album. Their album releases were in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2007, 2011. Then had the BIG breakup. Dan the lead singer hasn't been in contact with the drummer Ben in well over a decade.

Dolly has it right. Jon sometimes gets things a little mixed up. It's not a 2000's song, it was release maybe mid-90's. As Dolly tries to point out several times, they were maybe 15 or so when the song was released. This was a live performance from 2001, so they would have been around early 20's in age. At the end of the day, what really matters is the music and the performance. :)

You should point out they are a TRIO! That big lead guitar sound is from one talented dude! Nice that you pointed out how the drummer plays like “the drums owe him money” but this wall of sound is from three talented dudes. Sure, Rush, ZZ Top and early Nirvana were trios but it’s still a cool feat when one lead guitar leads the way. Enjoyed it. Thank you for keeping Silverchair alive!

PS PS PS, look out for ""Live at The Newcastle Hotel 1995"" concert. This was when they were 15, their 1st televised concert and actually one of the best yet. Tnis was when they released their 1st album and had just gotten back from USA with RHCPs. Do not watch the remastered one, half of the concert isnt on it, cropped it badly. The original version is wayyyyyy better and is purely them with no cropping at all.
