As a foreigner/westerner who lived in India for 10 years, I can tell you that in the majority of India, the caste system is not followed. So when Pez started the last India video by talking about how one really bad point about India is the caste system, I can understand why the Indians watching the video were offended. I know Pez's intent was not to be offensive and he was just parroting what his mom told him but the truth is, a lot of foreigners do constantly bring up the caste system as a way to bash India and Indians. I think a lot of Indians are just tired of ignorant foreigners constantly bringing up the caste system as a way to put down and mock Indians. Especially since it's not even true in the present day. It's great that you both want to learn about different Asian countries such as India, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. but please don't negatively comment on something if you don't really know what you're talking about. If an Indian came up to you and told you that Americans are horrible because there are still slave plantations in the American South, you would be annoyed too. I wish you both the best!

@@CharllotteKatakuri no it said during Mauryan empire esp Asoka's time and Kushana ruler Kanisha's time, buddism was popular in north India. Indeed Hinduism is old but during that time it was on little decline as new ideas were emerging, that's when Buddism and Jainism were born. It was Pushyamita Sunga (he was a brahmin if remember correctly) and Guptas who re-established faith in hinduism again. They promoted hinduism. Once again Hinduism flourished in India from that period onwards. Video should have mentioned about vedic times and early period of hinduism enrichment when texts etc were written more. But it didn't say Hunduism came from buddism it's just order was like that during that period. Hinduism once again became prominet after buddism. Even before buddism, Jainism got more popular at first. Chandragupta maurya followed Jainism.

@@CharllotteKatakuri The narrator is saying "as the religions of Buddhism and "what later became* Hinduism thrived". This is with reference to the earlier comments he had made about the so-called "Vedic religion". These people believe that the Vedic period is different from mainstream Hinduism. It is a myth created by "Max Muller " and "Robert cadwill" to destroy the moral of Indians and convert them to Christianity by imposing mindset of European superiority. But actually, All of the Indians share common genetic heritage from south to north and east to west. And these genes are indigenous to India and can be found in people of Iran too.

South east except japan and china has no genetic links with india otherwise the rest of asia has some genetic links to india. china ana japan is deeply influenced by india. south asian martial arts were brought in by indian buddhist monks( nepal etc also included when i see indian main land) but none of this at the expense of bloodshed but with philosophies and trade by exchange of technology. the great korean queen was also of indian origin from ayodhya, of ayattuya as you south asians might know. Fall of india resulted in fall of south asia because we indians started denouncing fighting and started accepting pacifism. not many people know this but native autralians also had part indian dna .

Indian subcontinent had one of the first early civilisations to Harbour. With that, it is fairly concluded with historical evidences, that India had the best of knowledge of science, spirituality, art of war, medicine etc. Unfortunately or unfortunately we were never a land mass who believed in conquering other land, although we fought battles within our land across empires being shown. And later foreign entities - mughals, britishers completely demolished our country. We are not a developing nation, we are recovering nation. We believe in cycles, kaal Chakra, only good deeds survives and India fits the definition of it. Be it blessings from almighty, it has been a chosen holy land of saadhus and yogis with immense knowledge of science and other spectrum of it. since thousands of years. We knew about the planetary positions, distances, birth rebirth of stars right to the development of a child in a mother womb. It is all there in our thousand years old scriptures. Not even 0.0000001% or more of Indian population has read their scriptures. Only time ( kaal chakra) will regain Indias lost glory. Bless Bharat, bles s India. Jai shree Ram

10:33 Those doors shown there were actually wrong. Hindu buildings have doors with smooth arches and usually have many Gods, Goddesses, Mantras, Mathematical, Physical and Chemical formulae and Medical info(in the form of Ayurvedic scripts) inscribed into the walls surrounding the door. Whereas, Islamic buildings have doors with pointed arches and usually have either verses of the Qur'an surrounding them or just bare bricks. So, the building shown there is actually completely incorrect since 1) Islam didn't exist during the Mauryan empire 2) Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Farsi buildings were the only ones existing during Ashoka's reign 3) Pre-Islamic and Islamic people didn't start invading India until 1000 AD

Vedic Aryans did not come from outside of india. Vedic culture was not spread, from outside and into India and is a consequense of this lands quest for truth, meaning and exploration. The opposite happened as ancient indians migrated to other parts of the world outside of India and populated the whole world such as the Scithians of Europe. All Europeans have Scithian male ancestry containing the R1A1A genetic marker which is a native indian genetic mutation. The Harappan "civilization" never fell, it relocated due to Saraswati river changing its course and eventually drying up. The civilisation eventuallly shifted to a 'deeper' part of India along the banks of river Ganga. It's still the same civilization which continues today in the form of "Hindus" - Indu - Indus - India

Technically speaking People populate the places more where there is Water.. Thats why Mesopotamian civilizations had Euphrates river or seas on sides. Egyptian civilization had Nile river, Indian or Indus Valley civilization had Indus river and later on Ganges and Yamuna river and their tributaries. And in the North East of India we have Brahmaputra river that comes from Tibet.Chinese civilizations had Yellow river and Yangtze river bcz most of chinese population is heavily crowded on the sea or ocean side. You hardly will find population on the Tibetan side.Beijing etc are heavily crowded.Mesoamerican civilization has water on all sides.. Africa is still filled with their very own civilizations. These are some of the biggest civilizations in terms of population and being famous. China's population is still extremely one sided towards the sea and Japan. India's most of the population lives in North India.South India has many rivers but compared to Ganges and its tributaries they are short. Which is why India has rice belt and wheat belt states where rice and wheat are grown. Basmati rice comes from India and Pakistan both. The food ROTI or CHAPATI which looks like Mexican tortilla but is actually made up of wheat is a type of flatbread first discovered in this Indus valley civilization. So we Indians have been eating that food for centuries now.

Which gradually misused throughout the history to form current form of caste system. Okey, let's see what are the differences between caste system and Varna System... In caste system - * A person's social class is defined by his birth I.e He belongs to the caste that he is born into like Brahmin,Takoor,Okkaliga or a Billava (The caste that I am born into) *Person can't change his caste if he wishes to *Some classes are considered noble and some not so noble. There are thousands of castes in India. *Discrimination is its integral part. Varna System - * Social class of a person is not defined by his birth, but by his profession. *There are only 4 varnas -Brahmin (Priests, religious seekers and teachers) - Kshatriya (warriors, soldiers and guards) - Vaishya (Business class) - shoodra (Serving class) *Any person who studies religion and strives for spiritual uplifting will be considered a brahmin. *Any person that works as a soldier or a guard is a Kshatriya. It doesn't matter if he is a king or just a soldier, he is a Kshatriya. *Person that earns by selling products and services is commonly known as Vaishya. *Person whose profession that doesn't "need" extensive "education", like farmers, Blacksmith, servants and other were called Shudras. *At birth, everyone is a Shudra. It is his choice with his profession allows him to jump to a different Varna. (Usually , people followed profession of their parents, but jumping into Kshatriya and Vaishya Varna was very common among shudras) That is brief about Varna system. This system is what Hinduism proposes and people used to follow but it gradually converted in to caste system. For eg:- * During the time of Gauthama Budha.. Hunters and butchers were considered to be "Panchama" (the 5th) , since people thought they were barbaric and didn't want them to fit into any varnas. *Around 600bc when meghasthanes of Greek visited India, He documented 7 different varnas instead of 4 varnas.

Well about the caste system it depends where you are from india isn't exactly developed completely .....so the urban areas don't have caste discrimination whereas it can be a bit prominent in the underdeveloped regions

India was actually mostly always populated because its fertile and after world war after independence The health system improved so death rates decreased and there was a population boom. Although many states in India are having 1.6-1.8% fertility rate since 1900 but there are still few states whose fertility rate is as high as 3% and replacement rate being 2.1% Also yes northeast east and west south part gets flooded in rainy season mostly northeast. North gets alot of Earthquakes and sometimes dust storms in northern most regions the glaciers fell and block the tini tiny road too so you cannot go anywhere you are just stuck wherever you were. Sanskrit is being revived now as its being taught in schools again' but its actually alot more similar to older persian many words are exactly same and ashoka was born hindu converted to Buddhism and map increased because greeks ruled Afghanistan nd Iran and greeks gave their daughter to Mauryan so they ruled together so it was pact between them and not war greeks were probably the most smartest they always made pacts with other Indian kingdoms so they shared power. Ashoka died and last king Brihadratha was assassinated in 185 BC-183 BC by his general Pushyamitra Shunga so thats how the kingdom fell ashoka was last main powerful king although this video left like more then half of the kingdoms but they probably didn't had that much time

Any American commenting on caste in India should first comment on slavery and the current status of Blacks in the US. Specifically, 1. The rate at which they are killed by police. 2. The persistent racism they face in day to day life. 3. The veneration of slave holders and confederate generals via monuments, plaques, etc. -- even army bases are named after them. 4. The fact that 50% of the country went berserk after finding out that Obama had been elected president. 5. The fact that one of the major political parties is the de facto political wing of the KKK.

5:20 .. Aryans were NOT "Migrants" .. He is referring to the popular theory established by colonial Europeans called "Aryan Invasion/ Migration theory" (AIT/AMT) .. There is NO SINGLE SOLID PROOF available for it ... British Colonisers propagated this theory to forward their "Divide & Rule" policy in India by saying that Sanskrit & Hinduism is of "FOREIGN ORIGIN" ... In reality the OIT "Out of India Theory" is more plausible .. Latest Evidences of Archaelogy, Literature, Genetics, Hydrography, Astronomical History, etc .. all of them point to that it was Indian tribes that migrated to Central Asia & Europe and hence there is commonality of Languages & Genes 5:32 .. Sanskrit is NOT a "Dead Language" .. but declining .. All religious hymns & prayers of Hinduism and other Indic religions are done in Sanskrit ... Sanksrit is considered as Mother of all Indo-European languages

I do agree. The public US education is too low which is far from public European standard. Thé US private schools are more advanced like the public’s schools is neglected. It should focus on improving public higher standard and everybody can benefit. Student loans removed a burden to everyone.
