In this video, my wife and I try an assortment of British Cadbury chocolate. Join us as we do a taste test of 10 varieties of this famous British chocolate brand for the first time! We're shocked at just how many versions of British Cadbury chocolate there are compared to what we have available here in our stores. Some of these were excellent...others not so much. Can you guess which variety of UK Cadbury were our favorites and which ones we hope to never try again?
The 10 types of Cadbury chocolates we tried are:
* Mint chocolate mini rolls
* Freddo dairy milk
* Double Decker
* Caramilk
* Chomp
* Eclairs
* Picnic
* Wispa
* Boost
* Twirl
Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed this reaction please give this video a thumbs up, share your thoughts in the comments and click the subscribe button to follow my journey to learn about my British and Irish ancestry.

They are all the same chocolate formula, but it is the tempering process that makes the different textures. Allowing it to cool slowly and regularly moving the chocolate around will give it the Dairy Mild creamy texture... while cooling it quickly makes the chocolate more brittle (like twirl or flake) the quick cooling also makes the chocolate very slightly more bitter, which is why there is a definite taste difference between twirl and dairy milk

Eclairs are a great candy for a road trip. Put one in whole, let it warm up, then when it has softened, chew it. Then the chocolate in the middle gives a lift when you get to it and it becomes chewy and a workout for your jaw. It should take 10 minutes to enjoy properly. If you want a Picnic without the raisins, you need a lion bar.

I notice you American don't seem to differentiate between toffee and caramel. caramel is softer, even oozy but toffee is firmer bordering on hard (like the eclairs) - my approach is to suck them a bit and then start chewing, I don't mind the stick to your teeth texture. The eclairs are good to stick a few in your pocket and snack on while I was working.

If you thought the twirl was crumbly you should try a flake (on which they are based). Twirl was an attempt at making a flake that was a bit less messy to eat (by coating it in tempered chocolate). Flakes were orginally made as a way of using all the factory waste from the dairy milk bars which had already been heated once and so would not make a proper temper again, it became so popular (the 'crumbliest, flakiest chocolate'), started being used by ice cream sellers by sticking one in the top of a cone (a '99 flake') and they had to start making extra untempered chocolate. The flake is famously messy to eat as it crumbles everywhere (you have to keep it in the wrapper really while you eat or half of it will end up on the floor) and so the twirl was born, a flake coated in normal dairy milk so that you can eat it more normally. As for the eclairs, apart from eating them wrongly, they are not a chocolate so much as a boiled sweet with a bonus chocolately centre when you eventually get to it. Nevery much liked them though as I don't really like boiled sweets and the chocolate is a bit grainy and odd tasting.

You're missing a Cadburys Starbar there!! My favourite by far, basically a peanut version of a Boost. The Twirl is a Flake covered in more chocolate, can be quite dry but have you tried dunking any of these in tea/coffee/hot chocolate at all? Changes the taste and texture sometimes for the better. Just because it isnt a biscuit doesnt mean you can't dunk it.

Aero came first, Wispa is a copy of Aero. I like both, the mint Aero is the best imo. The Twirl is basically a flake dipped in chocolate, makes it less crumbly. My dad loves a picnic or snickers. I think you might enjoy toffee crisp (Nestlé) or crunchie (Cadbury) it is quite hard though or a lion bar (Nestlé). I personally don't put chocolate in the fridge unless it is actually melting. Fox's Glacier mints in the fridge in summer, so good & refreshing. I've heard people like after eight mints cold, I've never tried that myself but does sound good.

A friend explained me the reason why there are so many caramel chocolates in the UK. It all dates back to the Empire, when the UK had a ton of sugar available, so it was fairly cheap. By making candies thta had a thin coating of chocolate on the outside and caramel on the inside they made chocolate cheap enough that even the poorer classes could afford some at least on special occasions. Not it has become a cultural preference.
@helenwood8482
@helenwood8482 3 ай бұрын
I think the problem is that you are unfamiliar with the textures. You didn't grow up with them, so the shock detracts from the experience. Also, most of these are nicer with tea. The nougat in the Double Decker is too sweet, until you pair it with a hot cup of tea. With the Eclairs, you should have been told not to eat them cold. They can break teeth. I warm them I my bra before eating, but you can also warm them in your hand, or, again, combine them with hot tea. When warm, the toffee becomes easier to chew and the chocolate inside melts.
