That may be true to an extent. Many Americans eat unhealthy foods , and the US does have a lot of obesity. Portion sizes in many places can be bigger than portion sizes in places outside the US . Fast food portion sizes in the US may be a little bit bigger than they they are in the UK . I don't know , as I've never been to the UK. But I've seen videos of portion sizes in the UK ( outside of McDonald's and KFC, for example ) that look just about the same as a portion size in the US. A plate showing a full English breakfast is pretty huge . So that confuses me a bit. Just like the US , food portion sizes might vary , depending on where you go. Though I don't deny the US might have bigger portions than elsewhere , I believe it's over generalized and exaggerated. It depends on where you go and what type of food you're getting. While the US does have a lot of obesity , along with certain illnesses associated with it , the UK also has a lot of the same issues. The US has more , but it's a lot bigger population wise.

Espressos are typically made via pressure, hence why we typically use Machines to do that for us. To many, it has a distinct flavor than simply coffee made from a French Press, Drip, or Moka Pot -- typically, if it's just made from these three, primarily via Drip, we just call that Coffee here as opposed to calling everything Espresso. To us, everything isn't just labeled "coffee" or "espresso", and we'll even go so far as calling specific types such as Coffee with Milk, as Café Au Lait or Caffé Latte, depending on the proportions of Coffee to Milk utilized.

James Casey I guess it is the same everywhere, Brits stereotype Americans and their culture too. The Bacon thing is curious though because it seems obvious that a good cut of bacon is better quality than a low quality thin fatty strip but then again a lot of it is what you are used to. But for any Americans, if you prefer that sort of bacon then ask for or shop for streaky bacon and it will be much closer your bacon - it is readily available.

Im not a scientist, but maybe the reason they taste British Mcdonald's differently is because its made from organic ingredients, here in America, we have a lot of genetically modified foods, foods made in the lab instead of naturally in the ground. My teacher says that England does not allow any genetically modified foods thus, the Americans in this video were just tasting a fresher, more organic type of Mcdonalds.

Ragnn Grmann That's nothing they advertised, and maybe you wont even notice it without comparison, it's just that in many american states they sugarcoat the fries before frying them. My own opinion on that is, that this is probably to make them more addictive for children. And the Mc'Donalds franchise in america wants their food to taste about the same in the states, so i just assumed that this is done everywhere.

Mijan Plays I’m also a UK citizen but I see it as fast food is more expensive to reduce obesity levels, and in ways it’s quite effective because it’s like a deterrent, you’re gonna be broke so you won’t choose to go down that path. Sure, some people do anyway, but that’s why shows where obese people who spend less in shops exist; it shows that you can lose weight when you opt for healthier, cheaper options and encourages others to do the same

I completely agree! I live in America, and that came off to me as "snobby." I have noticed though that there are those food critics or amateur people reviewing food in some videos, regardless of nationality, that don't know how to properly criticize foreign foods. It's like if they want to be intentionally a bit rude or passive aggressive maybe because of a general idea that they have of another country. I seem to notice this between the U.K. and the U.S.A. And not only with food reviews but language (use of words/word pronunciations) as well

Exactly, and only because they are not used to "pure" food they call it wrong, like the bacon. I wonder what they'd say I they went to Austria and bought a burger. Our burgers are made with 100% beef. Don't even want to know what's in the American version. That's not real food!

@maxslither
@maxslither 8 жыл бұрын
You didn't get the information from google, you got from a website that google took you to, using their search algorithm. Neither Google nor the website are an authority on truth especially if they used broad terms like "10-20 chemicals", and I'll bet the website reported poorly due to the social stigma and bias attached to McDonalds food. Let's start at the beginning so we don't get off to a bad start, of course McDonalds food is not healthy, it is fatty, sugary and salty, and like all fried food, large/frequent quantities will not do your body any favours. Potatoes are the primary ingredient in chips/fries in the UK the same as America or anywhere else, they are cut the same. They go through a pre-frying process, and about 3 chemical ingredients (dextrose and Sodium acid pyrophosphate, I think there was another) that keep them consistent in flavour and colour, and then get fried in store. That's pretty much it. Chips are bad for you but I wouldn't just say "10-20 chemicals" because that is extremely vague and to most people who see the word "chemical" misleading also. There is nothing wrong with chemicals in the broad sense, only in specific chemicals that you would have to argue your case over. You can scream "McDonalds is bad for you" until you're blue in the face, but everybody knows that anyway. It is someones choice to eat there and telling people it's full of chemicals is just counter intuitive, considering most foods do contain chemicals at some part of the production process. Fast food is not necessarily worse because of the chemicals, it's "worse" because of what it is, fried food. We should all eat everything in moderation, and try to avoid eating fast food or fried food too often. Not all aimed directly at OP, since probably correct in that we in the UK will have differing standards they may not use those 3 chemicals, but they are still pre-fried, and TBH I'm not sure if they use substitutes or the same or even none. But still, even if one is to believe those chemicals are "bad", they are not going to be any more unhealthy.
