Robert Broberg was, like Povel Ramel, a combination of singer/performer and comedian, he plays with the words in his songs and often make them mean more than one thing at the same time. This can be very difficult to get when swedish is not your first language. Robert was a true genious.

The Robert Brobert song for me is "Vatten", but then I guess I might relate to it more since it's a song about Stockholm.

For something slower, Robert Brobergs "Båtlåt" would be great. No problems following along in the pace, but I would be really impressed with your swedish skills if you had no problems following the lyrics. :) It's a great little love song. :)

As said many times below. Robert Brobergs "Vatten" is a classic and in my opinion, his best song.

I can´t see a hearse without hearing Robert Broberg sing "Min bil är inte lik din bil, det är en likbil" in my head. And sometimes when I'm at a traffic light staring at a "röd gubbe" I hear him sing "Gubbe gubbe röd, varför blir du aldrig grön"... You don´t have to react to those, but you you should definitely react to more Robert Broberg! He was a cultural icon, it´s a lot of wordplay and puns, which is probably quite hard when not being a native Swedish speaker, but perhaps it´s a great way to learn and have a bit of fun at the same time. Check out his performances of "Båtlåt" and "Vatten" from "Allsång på Skansen" for instance. Two very nice summery songs.

He was a cultural icon. I remember a radio show where a fan called in and read him a line that the fan figured would work in a Broberg song. Some time later the song was released.

Well, there is "Carola" which is NOT about swedish singer Carola, but a german nude-model and a lot of words in the song are in german. Then we have "Uppblåsbara Barbara" which is a tribute to a swedish sex-doll, and Maria-Therese which is not humorous at all, but kind of romantic.

Låten ger ADHD-vibbar, precis som Robert Brobergs (offentliga) personlighet gav. Jag har inte hört denna på många år men hade aldrig tänkt på att Ingela har en funky bassline, men det stämmer ju! They know he is a real artist but don't remember the title of his songs and therefore you didn't get any song title until now. As I remember him he had like an overall on stage and there where always a lot of color around him. I wonder if he was an painter to, he must have been

I have not really thought that humor and songs are a real Swedish thing. Or I guess it used to be more in English songs before in old drink songs and sailor songs etc but that it rarely occurs in modern American songs. In Sweden, comedy and music are very common. Others who have also done such songs includes Galenskaparna, Rolandz, Markoolio, Grotesco, Hasse & Tage. Are they the most musically advanced songs? Certainly not, but are they part of Swedish culture? Yes, most definitely.
Bra rekommendation. Finns inte så många svenska klassiker i denna genre.

Yes, all the songs on the album is about women, like Mariga Mary (about a girl that no guy can get), Ulla Trapid (A very slow girl, so it's a wordplay with the word "ultrarapid") and Uppblåsbara Barbara (about a sex toy for men). Except for one that is called "Köttbullar" which I don't know the reason for.
