I would change all your fuel injector too guy this engine is well known for injector going bad. Also check the wiring pigtails too. I rebuild my 2007 e63 amg two months ago. I had because of a broken head bult. Not a pretty thing but she back on the road and running good with more power. Remember it's a Engine is natural aspirated so when you put in your coolant make sure you've run the heater 1st and but first you crank it 3 times without starting it that is to sequence. Then heater. Good 👍 luck hope you get it running and enjoying it

@@modifyd2518 Appologies all, the culprit was bank #1 cam adjuster assemblies were reversed during transport to work bench. Lap top test verified this prior to removing valve cover the second time. Bottom line: mark adjusters on car before removal & verify P/N 's. No damage because ecm does not energize cam adj. Solenoids to unlock adj. assemblies. More on this later.

This EXACT thing happened to mine, dont distress mine sounded EXACTLY the same and had 1 bank out and codes galore. The issue is the timing, take it to someone who KNOWS this car and can time it, the timing is super finicky... even if you use the timing tools dead on it STILL does this.. take it to a pro, should cost around $800 for them to do the timing.

This happened to mine after I changed the camshaft adjusters myself , I retimed it myself multiple times and it just started rough and a couple of times would just eventually sputter out and die.

Hi, Great video. What is the upgraded Meredes Benz SLS black series lifters part number and the price? The regular Valve Lifters - Mercedes-Benz (156-050-02-25) cost $20.30 per bucket times 32 pcs.

Having the same issue after I did my head bolts/gasket, misfiring 5-8 & it did smoke for a lil bit after it’s first start but I think that’s normal, didn’t smoke at all after a bit. Hope you figure it out, cheers

Bank #1, ( pass side ) cam adjuster assemblies got switched due to mislabeled. I did not mark properly before x-fer to work bench. The cam position signal wheels are slightly different. After 4 secs. The ecm cuts fuel& ignition to that bank. Opened valve cover, read int & exh P/N. Switch back. All great! Ck your codes! I also replaced all 4 cam signal sensors & crank sensor to eliminate future problems. Good luck & God speed!!!

Experiencing same issue after adjuster rebuild. Have fuel, spark, compression, shoved a high def cam down ALL cylinders, everything is perfect. Misfiring on 5-8. Going to disassemble adjusters and switch plates. Will confirm just for others if this is correct.

I change a cracked piston on my s63amg 2008 i change the headbolts and piston bearings all of them and my car cranked for 1second then now it wont crank at all before i put the starter in the car i tested was working what do u think it went wrong let me know if u can any idea thxxxxxxxxx
