As a Mercedes owner myself when I saw the heading list that this would be a Benz-AMG detail, I got very excited. The music, the camera work, the level of focus on every minute detail...Rick, you outdid yourself on this amazing project....wow, wow, wow!!!! This four year old Mercedes E-class looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Rick, I'm not familiar with "strip wash" process.....what does this additional step do that the car shampoo didn't already take care of? The final perfection of all the black trim on a white vehicle is spectacular.The immaculate black wheels just pop in contrast to the freshly cleaned white paint. The car is truly beautiful and just showroom perfect when you're done. I can only imagine how happy you made the car's owner. You are second to none, Rick...second to none !!! Thanks so much for all the effort and hard work you put into this big project - both the car detail itself and the amazing videography which showcases the detail...you really nailed it !!! If you use your factory fabric mats and they look like that(after being detailed) Need to invest in some full coverage mats to prevent the fabric discoloring and ply of the fibers from being matted.. little fabric spray could help. What works for me.. I never typical spray anything on the carpets in regards to stain removal.. damp brush and a little agitation with a medium/soft bristled brush then towel dry and vacuum. Solution would be clean car wash soap when doing carpets and mats that are in next to new condition... I’ve used this method on my 04 jaguar carpets and you’re can eat off of them. Great work as always and thanks for the video- for shits and giggles- typically how much does this exact process run- price wise ? Thanks.Rob
@RADGarage5 жыл бұрын
R J Considering these mats are four years old and PO used them year-round, I’d say they have survived quite well but I appreciate your advice and observations. That’s what makes all of this so satisfying for me, is hearing thoughts and opinions of others. Cost wise, I’d rather not say. It was probably less expensive than you think because I tend to underprice myself. Especially when it’s for a friend.

What do you recommend to clean a factory matte paint job by Mercedes? Picking up a factory matte cashmere white and want to be able to do it correctly.

Your garage is on point and your videos are so dramatic like you are preparing for battle against dirt LOL. What would you recommend for keeping the piano black plastic on the gear shift console and doors clean and also scratch free? Have a CX-5 with all that stuff and I swear if I even fart in that car scratches will appear on that plastic.
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
vcjjj08 Yes, soft smooth plastic is brutal. I would suggest a very fine microfibre and very little pressure. There’s always the option of ceramic coating it, not that I’ve ever gone to those lengths but I know some who have. It doesn’t guarantee against scratches but at least there’s some protection there. There’s also the option of polishing the scratches out with a small rotary tool such as the Rupes iBrid Nano.

@@RADGarage what sort of draining do you have now?
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
Nothing really. The water hits the floor and the pitch of the floor allows it to drain out the front. A lot of it evaporates due to the very dry alpine air in this area. That's why I am considering a trench drain install. Hopefully it can happen this Fall, because I would love to have it in by winter.

Is it just this detail or are you always a masking (tape) minimalist?
@RADGarage5 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Barry I find some cars require more masking. This car didn’t really need any.

Plus, using the 3” and the iBrid makes it easier getting the portions close to trim and whatever.

And why use two different wheel cleaner one time?
@RADGarage2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. The brake dust buildup on these wheels required a bit more aggression so I changed up the cleaner as the project progressed.

What's your camera ?
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
Nothing too fancy. Just a Sony a6000. Actually, back when this was shot I think I was using my iPhone 11 and a Sony 7D DSLR.

R A D G a r a g e Haha I am a student, im poor. Your videos have so high production value that it is a shame that your vidoes quality is sub par. Perfect angles, perfect music, perfect shots and bad video quality. Shame Love your content tho, do not mean it in a bad way.

William O. Hafad Do you have a reasonably priced recommendation?

R A D G a r a g e To be honest, my intrests are around cars, bikes and planes. I do not really know much about cameras and stuff like that but I really enjoy good quality videos.
