Amid Western Sanctions, How Russia's Economy Outperformed Rival Nations | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Russia's economy expanded by 3.6% in 2023 despite heavy sanctions from Western nations. According to the International Monetary Fund's assessment, Moscow's GDP will further rise by 2.6%. These estimates were not far from what Russia's President Vladimir Putin had predicted in December 2023. Russia has now surpassed G7 nations to prevail economically. How did Moscow sustain its economic growth amid an onslaught of Western sanctions? Can it maintain this growth momentum in the long run? Palki Sharma tells you.

I just saw the Tucker Carlson interview and Putin speaks about this in quite depth. He speaks about trading in Yuan and Rubel instead of the USD which has helped the Russian economy. He also speaks about the negative impact of sanctions on the USD (as countries look for other alternatives reducing the impact of the USD) and why Germany's economy is suffering so much.

@@lipids7185 How to corrupt? So the dollar is just a printer, and you do not see corruption there? Do you know how the is money supposed to be printed? Do you think the rule is to print as much as you want? If that were the case, we could all have printers at home and all be rich. You need to back your bills with assets. It used to be gold (one of the reasons the US killed Gaddafi), or oil (that's why invaded Iraq, Syria, Libya, and keeps tight sanctions on Venezuela, Iran or Russia). The US isn't backing the money on anything apart from wars, where they destroy small weak countries to profit. But the real power of the US isn't their army. Remove the salaries of those soldiers, and let's see how many of them will be willing to die for their nation. LOL The real power is the Dollar, as all transactions around the World MUST be done in Dollars. Now, for a minute, think how much money is moved around the World EVERY DAY. And now apply a 0.1% commission. Check how much money the US profits from this. Now the problem is: BRICS (even if they are corrupt as you say) are going to trade on their own currencies, surpassing the Dollar. That means that the volume is going to be reduced, and therefore, the value of the commission. It is plain mathematics. So you can understand it better: The volume of transactions between Russia and China only (among themselves) was over $240b last year. This is only product exports between the 2. If you apply the commission I mentioned, is $240m. I bet 2024, in total, including the new nations that joined BRICS, will go over £1t, which means a $1b commission lost. See where I am going? It isn't about the corruption, but about the profit the US is losing. And knowing how the world is shifting, this decline will accelerate year after year.

why should BBC or anyone pay attention what are Russian officials saying? I remember how they were informing about performance of soviet economy when I was young (I lived in one of the USSR satellite countries). They would always pick some number (how much steel was made, how much coal was mined or how we managed to fulfil the five-year plan to 108% etc) ... on the outside it always looked that we were growing and performing like never before... and then it all suddenly collapsed mainly for economic reasons. Most big industries are working on war economy and no new factories are actually opening(at least not as fast as they should) when the war stops sooner or later the war economy style must end bringing large concerns over how will we reorganize our heavy industry.

Bro Western countries and western alleged countries represent more than 60% of global GDP. That number has been stable for about a decade now. What they did not mention in this report was why Russia's economy was growing last year. The answer is that it is due to the massive increase in military spending, and government spending in other related industries. Russia has doubled its military spending since before the war. The military budget is now 6.5% of GDP. This spending is not sustainable, however, as Russia had a budget deficit of 10%, which is equivalent to about 3 trillion rubles, in 2023. I think it is very strange that this report chose to emit this. It is not like economists are surprised that Russia is growing when it is pumping its reserves directly into the economy to produce munitions.

A person with 1 USD in New York can buy, perhaps, a chocolate bar. For the same 1 USD, someone can have a lunch portion worth of food in Mumbai. Both only have 1 USD, but one can get only snacks, the other one gets his stomach full. Think of Russia and NATO the same, but in terms of artillery and tank production.

This is really good. Thanks for sharing this important information. As a proud Indian🇮🇳, I really love ♥ and have a lot of respect for the incredible work of Palki's highly captivating story regarding *How British looted 45 trillion from India* which unquestionably stands as a masterpiece of the highest quality. The content of the reporting is truly inspiring, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The dedication, talent and hard work poured into the video are greatly appreciated by many. The Indian Union Public Service Commission has delivered a remarkable report titled संघ लोक सेवा आयोग *How Britishers killed 1.8 billion Indians. Chronology of British Raj's exploitative policies* | UPSC," is equally astounding. The Indian government consistently produces insightful and thought-provoking articles of the utmost caliber, and I sincerely hope they continue to produce such interesting exceptional work. Can it even get better than that? It should deserve an award for best report of the year. Thanks for telling the truth. Your show was really entertaining. I adore your passion

For those who havent read the Indian government's Commission's report on how 1.8 billion Indians were unalived by the British Here is a short summary
@PraneeI
@PraneeI 7 ай бұрын
First, it was done over a very long period of 200+ years. Not all in one go. And it was the British policies and laws implemented that killed 1.8 billion Indians, not that they were executed
@PraneeI
@PraneeI 7 ай бұрын
The two main policies that wiped out 1.8 billion Indians are: 1: Allocation of food: Since the British were at war all the time, they didn't have people to do the farming. They made India do agriculture and then take it away. causing a massive famine every week. 2: Plundering of India's natural resources The British forced Indians to mine all the natural minerals in their country and carry them to the ports to be shipped back to England every day. extremely dangerous jobs, and these poor Indians weren't fed, and hundreds of millions succumbed to the exhaustion. The whole of India was ruled by only a handful of Britishers. Why India chose to never fight back baffles many to this day. Maybe India is just obedient by nature.

Drawing upon my expertise in the behaviors and nesting habits of Indians, I can definitively state that Indians did not resist the invaders; instead, the invaders, including the British and various others, eventually withdrew when there is nothing left but a population of one billion Indians grappling with poverty and illiteracy-a challenging situation that nobody was eager to tackle.

Oil and gas revenues represent a majority of Russia's imports and exports. Those are down by 30% since the start of the war. Literally, every economist is saying the same thing. I don't know why this video presented it like the West is surprised that Russia's GDP is growing on paper.

Nobody says that their economy is outperforming. Just like China, Russia calculates their growth based on the current economy in Ruble terms. So if the economy in 2022 was 100 and it is 105 in 2023 then we have a 5% growth. The same with China their economy was 120 trillion RMB, in 2023 it was 126 trillion RMB and you have roughly 5.2% growth. They are not using the Real GDP growth which is adjusted for inflation like the US for example is using. And the problem with that is the Russian ruble lost significant value in 2023. The IMF projection is 1.8 trillion USD terms for Russia in 2023, was 2.2 trillion USD in 2022.

@@davout5775 Btw the current-USD GDP growth for the United States in 2023 was 6.3%, 9.2% in 2022 and over 10% in 2021. The US also announces the current-USD GDP growth but the media shows just the real GDP growth as it is more accurate.

@@stevekagura3612 The vast majority of US debt comes from inside banks, funds etc. Such tremendous debt might have been an issue if just the household wealth in the US was something like 150 trillion USD. That's just the household wealth! Just 10 companies in the US hold 1 trillion USD in cash! So don't worry about the US!

During a war the GDP is growing because the government makes a lot of spendings.

Why then is Germany not growing, since it is in second place after the United States in investing in the war in Ukraine? The answer is no, that's not the point. And the fact is that in Russia there is an active replacement of Western goods, which gives opportunities to local producers, and since there are a lot of resources and very cheap energy, production growth is high. And this growth will continue, because Western companies will not be able to return to Russia for a very long time, because there is no trust in them, they have become toxic partners with whom it is dangerous to have relations.

No big task of statistics: Just include the excessive war effort and Russia‘s economy jumps up the chart.
