Crochet along with me to make you very own amigurumi chubby kawaii octopus friend! Step by step instructions with the added benefit of zero sewing of pieces required; it is a great project for if you detest sewing a million pieces together! This eight legged friend is crocheted in ONE PIECE so he super sturdy and stands up to rough play 😀 Keep scrolling for all the links, timestamps and the written pattern 👇

🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZbin yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

@@joeraber8473 oh no! :( I don’t actually, but I work with my hands and lift so they’re pretty strong? I wonder if you tried using those little thin compression gloves and that would help? Have you only noticed with the cotton yarn and never acrylic or wool?? I also never did the entire octopus at once. I don’t have that much time in a row 😂 but I’ve found I do love crocheting with cotton (I’m in Canada and has the Bernat Handicrafter 100% cotton)

Thank you so much for this video. Just found you and plan to try several more of your fun ami patterns. Working up to doing a doll and found the legs portion of this project particularly helpful. Your teaching style is very clear and easy to follow. Just finished my first Octopus. I'm sure there will be friends coming along quite soon. I see a purmaid in my future as well. Thank you again.

I’m an extremely competent knitter, I thought I’d have a go at crochet and this was the fist thing i tried, it looks exactly like yours. I took it to work to show my colleagues who can crochet (I work In HobbyCraft), they knew I couldn’t crochet so we’re amazed when I produced this, even commenting how tidy and extremely neat and even it is. So thanks for the tutorial, you made me look like a pro on day one of learning something new 😉

Thank you so much for sharing. I made a little friend for my niece and it turned out gorgeous. Also the tip with staggering dcs and incs is golden! I wish I knew this earlier, cause this is bothering me with many of my old projects. I will never go back even if instructed otherwise. Then last but not least the twist in using invisible dcs makes it perfect. Thank you ❤️🐙
