Hmmmm.... Besides being a yummy stand alone pie, it also looks like a great pie base to build on: for a savoury pie some crumbled bacon and/or grilled onion (leave out the lemon flavouring), for a desert pie add a topping of fruit pie filling - blueberry, cherry or strawberry? I think I will try both! Thank you for the lovely recipe!

Hi Kt🌸 i love these unusual pies that you've been baking 🥧! This one looks and sounds soo good! I love lemon in desserts, i think i'd try the basic recipe them by adding vanilla too! I love you're real ness & how you say it like it is! ...we all make errors of judgement in the kitchen but some creators would only show a picture perfect creation ...in your case the pie. It still looked great, cracks n all. I was thinking that to get a really smooth consistency ( if the lumpy texture of cottage cheese puts u off) u could whiz it in a blender or hand held mixer. I'd like to try it original first though. Great recipe & video friend...thanks for keeping me company at 3am. take care, stay safe xxxx

Give me allllll the custard 🥧 pies! I’m making this but I think I will do half the sugar and blend it in my vitamin before I pour it in the crust. Love this video!

Blending it sounds wise. I have often done that when making lasagna since some of my people "think" they don't like cottage cheese. 😬 Also, I am sure half the sugar would work fine but this pie really wasn't too sweet. Also, it doesn't really have a true custard-y feel. Having said that, we do like this and I will make it again, just not bake as long.

I think it’s supposed to be eaten warm, like only let it cool for 10 minutes or so, maybe that would change the texture of the cottage cheese when eating it

Have you tried to put the cottage cheese in the blender? Then mixing it into the other ingredients.
