I have SDA friends. The SDA church differs from traditional Christian practices by worshiping on Saturday instead of Sunday, they also have different end time beliefs about the rapture and tribulation. My friends look to God for everything they need. When Amish leave they usually join with Mennonites, this case is very unusual.

Such a shame what religion does to people and families. A whole life lived in fear of being punished by burning for eternity simply for not perfectly following the rules. It would be so much better if people just believed being a good, moral person is enough.

Hope you continue to read the paragraph till verse 10: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus *unto good works* , which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." So we are saved not of works, but unto (= for) works! And those works can never be against the commandments. Thus salvation leads to obedience to the commandments.

@@corkjv Once again you are leaving out the last part of a verse. It says "work out *your own salvation* with fear and trembling" in Phil 2: 12. Please, do not *reduce* the gospel to justification! There are *two* sides of salvation: justification _and_ sanctification. Both sides are of the LORD. Look up verse 13: "For *it is of God* which worketh in you both to will and to do (= obey!) of his good pleasure." The *pattern* for sanctification is the character of GOD. The character of GOD is codified in the *ten commandments* .

Sir , Im not a Seventh day Adventist, but yes , Keeping the Sabbath day holy is a good thing ... Let no man Judge you for keeping the Sabbath Day ... Most don't fallow the 10 commandments... Most people think that they are under Faith alone ... But don't you think Jesus would of told us if the holy day would be changed from Saturday to Sunday ... but you will never find it in the bible ... If you looked up the word "Saturday" in Hebrew, Greek , latin, Spanish, Italian, and 30 other different languages and tongues, All of the say Sabbath in there own language... I find it odd the the English-speaking language does not give this ... We are not under 613 law that Moses hand wrote ... but the ten commandments that God wrote with his own finger we are still under... Jesus said I didnt come to change the law or commandments, but to fulfill them ...
@cjmiller18716 жыл бұрын
Jerome Schwartz We are not under ANY law. We are not REQUIRED to keep the sabbath. Jesus is our rest. The Ten Commandments are there to show us how sinful we are. Our salvation is through faith ALONE!!! The New Testament is very clear on this. If a person attempts to achieve salvation by keeping the commandments he has to do it perfectly, not ever sinning ONCE! If you commit one sin you are guilty of them all. James 2:10. That means eternal damnation! Only through your faith in christ will you be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9. If a person wants to keep the sabbath there is nothing wrong with that but it is no longer required says Jesus Himself.

I was in a Sabbath keeping Cult for 14 years. It was a Hell on Earth. They said that if I did not keep the Sabbath or some other OT teachings I would be cast into the Lake of Fire. They even said God would kill my little girl if I did not follow their teachings. Then I listened to a preacher give a series of lectures on Galatians and I was set free. No we cannot be Justified (declared Righteous before God) by anything we do. Keeping a day for Religious observance is fine but when you say you HAVE to keep it to be saved then you are preaching another Gospel (Gal. 1:8)

iiiiiii You are not acting very Christian. You are in the sin of revilement. God considers the Sabbath important because it's the day we rest and worship the Lord together. Of course Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, however, He never said not to observe a day of rest and worship. He only challenged the man-made laws that the Jewish people had invented.
