He had a birthday party and they showed up in full force. You haven't lived until you partied with the Amish. I swear they go so hard but, like, respectfully. They were just a good ass time. I was smoking weed out of a corn cob pipe with a guy and he told me he doesn't worry about DUI's cause he sits down in the buggy and the horse just takes him home while he sleeps. I'm telling you, I have never talked about wooden furniture while listening to obscure early 2000's pop music before. It was a weird night, but good weird.

There's 4 cops on scene and only ones lying...to another cop..his supervisor...to try and more easily justify his actions of getting his car scratched. They have bodycam footage. Nobody's being wrongfully imprisoned for that lmao. It's why we have court. And your basing your assumption that it's common on nothing but maybe 2 videos you've seen over a few months. Just like one might assumr that gay people are all predators, theyre wrong, but they feel confidentnin that because they see 2 or 3 examples of it being the case. 2 out of dozens of thousands is inconsequential. It's the lying that makes this extraordinary and why we watch and are appalled by this video. This would be like seeing a video of a subway worker spitting in a sandwich and then assuming 50% of sandwiches made are spat in. No. Nobody's talking about the 99.9% of sandwiches made normally. The reason we are seeing this is because it's extraordinary. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be dealt with harshly. Doesn't mean that dirty cops aren't a massive problem we face as society. They are just far rarer than mad eout to be, during to numerous checks and balances that do a very good job of preventing that behavior to begin with.

according to what i've read, this is a pretty average occurrence. amish men usually get smashed, and just hop in the buggy, and the horse takes them home. all the cops did was spook the horse, and make it drive into a ditch. the horse knows what to do, and looking at the guy in the buggy, probably does this every weekend. the cool thing about horses, is despite their peanut brain, they're pretty smart animals. they know where home is and how to get there.
@salemcrow50782 жыл бұрын
@Veronica I mean, assuming there's a decent amount of Amish people in the area who use horses and stuff, they're probably used to occasionally seeing one and they'd know to avoid it. @@reanbowlerd5988 Uh....the problem is that a horse and buggy ISNT A CAR. The guy in the buggy was passed out and the horse, which is its own living being, didn't stop. Which is a gigantic difference. The horse has no concept of the cops authority and did seem to try to avoid them at that anyway. The way it was worded made it seem like the passed out guy somehow made a conscience decision to drive the buggy into the car instead of what actually happened with the cop parking the car in the path of a horse that has no concept of police authority and couldn't manage to avoid hitting. A car and a horse and buggy are not the same thing.

The funniest part is there's a good chance the driver was passed out and the horse was just on autopilot going home. I live in Amish Country PA, this happens way more than you think. I worked with an ex amish guy that used to call his horse "autopilot"
@5H4NKTH35HARK2 жыл бұрын
Ngl Autopilot actually sounds pretty cool as a name. Also horse and buggies are super useful, it's like having an extra driver or a self driving car. You can get piss drunk, give the horse some beer (since it won't get drunk), pass out in the buggy, and be on your merry way. Plus it's a basically a pet. Only problem is that it eats a lot, can't travel very far, and can't go very fast.

Important to point out how that the horse is heading home on its own. So the officer decides the best thing to do is crash his car into the horse and carriage and caused severe injury to the occupant. Police cannot just not make things worse. DUDE THAT LOOKS LIKE A SWARTZENTRUBER BUGGY.... If you aren't familiar with the Amish, the Swartzentrubers are the batshit insane fundie branch of the Amish church that doesn't allow any sort of passenger windows on their buggies. These were very obviously kids on Rumspringa, the guy looked like he had a female passenger who, lets be real, is probably the girl he's been courting to marry. They were just having some fun without getting smitten to hell and these cops decided to stop them on a road with no one travelling besides themselves then escalate. Amish homies are literally just 10 years behind everyone else as far as sheltering/dealing with cops and trauma goes. This event most likely fucked them up more than it should have.
