Yes, it was a lot of complexity with the roof system and everything. But I think it turned out really well. I’m going to be posting more videos of it because recently it was a bit farther along and I was able to get more video.

My GOODNESS!! Aside from not using treated lumber out on the porch, they spared no expense. From the half log stairs, to the clean peeled BIG logs, to that awesome "character post".... Let's not forget that VIEW!!.... Please don't ever tell us that these people have "gone on vacation".

I’m not sure why the contractor chose to use untreated lumber. If you contract with Meadowlark to provide your porch, we will always use pressure treated material for the porch framing. The floor is not always pressure treated since that can be more easily replaced but the framing structure definitely needs to be pressure treated.

Wow! This is a beautiful log home. What size logs did they use?

They used our larger sizes logs, I would say they average 12 to 16 inches in width diameter.

Can you do a video explaining and showing the process of adjusting the settling jacks? Does Meadowlark come back to adjust or is it up to the homeowner?

That’s a good idea to do a video explaining the settling jacks. If the home is in our local area, we generally take care of the settling jacks but if it’s a long ways away from us, it’s not that hard for the Customer to just simply turn the nut with a wrench. It only needs to be looked at every six months to a year until it is done settling.
