While I kinda agree, I feel that a break is supposed to be based on the idea that the break will eventually end, while break-ups are supposed to be a finality. A lot of people just use the words wrong.

I dunno.. In my experience, and from what I've seen, people who go on breaks lack the maturity to just leave their partner or talk things out. It's a middle/high school age tactic for people who don't know how to properly navigate a romantic relationship, or understand them too well and know that it can be an easy out to cheat on their gullible "partner" till they're "ready to come back". 🙄 I hesitate to even call it cheating. It's just... playing games with someone's emotions.

And remember she says this isn't the first break she asked but before this guy was "skiny" and probably with a low self-esteem. Now the boy has a good body and girls are talking to him and she feels he is rude because before in the breaks this guy will do nothing and is waiting for her, and now she is fearing other girls could take him. But he ask for permision to talk with other women and reassure her he loves her but has a good feeling with other girl. We need to think not only in OP but in general

@@zhongliidonglii When you say the word "break" as a teenager, think "separation" as an adult. Same principles, same risks. If _he_ was the one asking for the break, then I would absolutely have a problem with his behavior during the break. Since _she_ was the one asking for the break, she's basically asking him to hold her place in a very long line while she continues shopping for clothes and shoes. She expects him to just stand there and wait for her to come back without him knowing exactly what she's going back to get and how long she expects to be gone.

Story 1: I have met SO many people who said they had their dreams derailed by unfortunate life circumstances when in fact, they never had it in them to make it actually happen. This one guy had a mother who continuously said her kid ruined her life because she got pregnant at ballet school and she couldn't become a professional ballerina because of that. She acted like she would have been the next Gelsey Kirkland. Her kid had to listen to that all through his childhood and it was his aunt who pretty much raised him. One day, when he was an adult, he saw that her old ballet school was closing because the people who had started it had died or got too old. They were throwing out a bunch of old personal files and he asked if they had his mother's file and if so, if he could have it. They did and after reading, It turned out she was less than mediocre and the school would have dropped her except that her parents paid extra. The next time his mother went through her life was ruined because of him, he pulled out her file and started reading out the comments from the teachers who far from praising her to high heaven, were almost constantly negative. His mother denied all of it. He thinks she rewrote history in her mind and believes the fantasy she made up. But she eventually stopped saying her getting pregnant ended her career as a dancer when he would immediately start with how full of shit she was.

Oh my God! That is hilarious! I have a friend whose mother did the same to her. We both did ballet professionally, but her mother constantly pushed her into it because she made the excuse of my friend ruining her career. We actually had her mother’s old ballet teacher as our director for a couple of performances, and she told us the truth about my friend’s mom being a mediocre dancer who never put any effort into really learning nor improving in ballet, she used “getting pregnant” as an excuse to drop out. My friend was going to call her mom out on it, but our dance director beat her to it when my friend’s mom started giving that speech at the cast party after the last performance.

Story 3: Skip the wedding- your sister made her choice and she's not listening to your concern. Your family isn't helping either so just look at the sister and say, "You know what, that's fine. This reeks of the idea that the brother wants you because him and the one your sister is marrying have some creepy 'share everything' relationship situation where he probably wouldn't date anyone unless they had a sister for his creep-o brother...

OP should probably ignore them forever and live a happy life like he used to Story 2:- The boyfriend has slowly started to toxic and is just leading you on as he cheats, most probably to come back to you if the other girl ditches him. So break off and try to focus on your own life. The O/P is an amazing person and will do good in life. Story 3:- The sister is justing that to keep her would be happy. If you go she will take it as a yes to hook u up with the brother, so stick with your boyfriend and tell the sister that u disagree with her arrangement. Story 4:- You are not unreasonable, it is more of a communication problem. Your girlfriend is just not taking the creep seriously. So tell her your feelings calmly.

I think I understand what is going on with the sister in story 3. So I was in a not so similar situation. So I used to hang out with my brothers and some friends when all of a sudden one day one of my brothers started to refuse to invite me to go out with them. I didn’t understand the issue and only found out when I encountered everyone out without me. Turns out my brother thought I was into his girlfriend so he started disliking me being around. His girlfriend and me knew each other longer than she knew him and he was always arguing because he believed that she was cheating on him with me. With what I said above I believe OPs future brother in law like my brother believes that OPs boyfriend likes the sister so it is making him jealous causing the sister to not want the boyfriend be there and trying to separate them by putting his brother in the way which doesn’t work. The sister is probably trying to focus on her wedding and most likely avoiding a huge drama on her big day by refusing to have OPs boyfriend there. Just a guess due to my experience with what happened with my brother.

OP Dad from story one got those Al Bundy's hopes and dreams. Did he go to Polk High too?! 🤭🤭 Story two, OP kind of set herself up for that it seems. She agreed that it would be okay for him to talk other girls while on a break, and now it's come back to bite her in the ass

Story 1: WTF! How dare they abandon their child, completely mistreat them and then demand their inheritance from as far as I'm concerned their only family. But honestly I am happy that the OP ended up living with their grandparents as they probably got a better life even if they loved them. Story 2: you should just break up with him and you could do so much better Story 3: I'm sorry but if it makes you feel uncomfortable then don't go to the wedding. And I know that it would be terrible and you would feel guilty and so would I, but the brother obviously likes you and it is extremely weird. Story 4: the OP’s girlfriend has a small point but it's not ok and she should've told you and you and your girlfriend should confront him.

1st Story; Clearly the dad wasn't slapped hard enough by his dad to be instilled respect and manners. Now, the OP gets the goods, while rest of the narcs get 0. 2nd Story; Lassy, he's trying to get a rise out of you, and your failing. Move on, and leave him be

Highly doubt it. She made a few mistakes. Continuously taking “breaks” before. As well as saying that he could talk to other women. Like seriously.

In the first story, I can say that what type of drugs are they using? Like seriously, you blame your child for ruining your dreams. You should blame yourself and your crotch for getting your girlfriend pregnant.

Story 1: When the Parents kicked the OP out my head directly went to THATS ILLEGAL bc there is a law that children until 18 have a right to have a roof above their head so if i was the OP and learned that i would immediatly sue them. The realatitonship is already so rocky it wouldnt matter.

Not really. Had OP's parents just dumped him on the street to fend for himself, then it would've been. But he was given to his grandparents, so OP did have a roof to live under. Sure, it was still a jerk move his parents made, but far from illegal.

I wouldn’t attend the wedding at all, let alone be a bridesmaid. The sister can go suck eggs and her fiancé and his brother can learn that the bro can’t always get what he wants. That story really ticks me off - OP is not wrong in any way, whereas sis is showing what really matters to her, and it’s not her sister.
