when younger I was that boss. ran a tacobell at 20 and kinda laughed at an older coworker complaints about a younger female harassing. he was close to 40 she was like 19 at best. I failed that employee. I had to fire her for trying to pull him to the back 3 days later. his wife did not fail a thing though as she's kicking the little girl ass in the parking lot after on the same day and was on her way before I could even fire her. I did apologize to him and his family and learned a lesson from then on especially with me being the victim later in life funny enough now that I think about it.

For me (a woman) it is the same situation as if I would be asked to wear something super revealing as part of a dress code. Like, you are free to have a dress code, I am free to not want to spend a really uncomfortable day feeling bad in my clothes and wanting to hide in the near bathroom as much time as possible. I also agree with the comment that it seems targeted a bit at the OP since they are the only reason why such a rule should been set up.

Story 1: Jessica deserved to get fired and lose pretty much everything in her divorce. Just because you're a woman, does not mean you get a free pass to harass people. I know many bosses and HR's are useless that way, but there really cant be that double-standard, and its sad that nothing happens until someone either snaps or sues. People really need to learn how to both take NO for an answer and leave people alone. Story 2: A nice case of malicious compliance here. Good thing the OP didnt have to deal with any grief over this too. Story 3: The line "Go back to your country" happens all over the world, not just Germany.... very ignorant and stupid. As for the Karen, she was an idiot and hopefully the paperwork gets delayed or rejected if she were to come back again. Story 4: Oh boy, i always hate people that think they can get away with things or have special treatment just because their family (in this case husband) works for the police. Also, i think its extremely disturbing that someone like Jane was running a daycare. Thank god it shut down, she definitely should not be allowed near children. Also glad that her stupid husband was suspended, but too bad he wasn't fired. I hate police that think they are above the law and can do anything just because they are police. This all reminds me of a much older video on here where a cop was on a super powertrip and finally got sacked thanks to the guy that owned a gun range. Story 5: Ana is a big insensitive jerk here. The OP legit needs an eplipsy-trained service dog and they are literal life savers for those people. The OP doesnt just have "a dog", they have a lifeline and legally allowed to have them anywhere. Since the OP had a bad seizure like that without Bailey, Ana really should consider herself very lucky that the OP didnt decide to sue her for that. She literally put her life in danger by forcing the OP to keep Bailey outside. OP is not a jerk.... anyone who think so is a complete idiot. Ana doesn't deserve anyone in that friend group (or anyone in general) as a friend. Screw Ana. Story 6: The MIL here is a psycho and has a bad case of both empty nest syndrome and baby rabies. I would never ever allow her to take the baby alone, because i think the likelyhood of her taking off with the baby is very high.... especially if she is refering to him as "my baby". I think the OP needs to set more boundaries here, or go low to no contact and even get a restraining order here. I think its only a matter of time before the MIL tries something awful here. Story 7: While the OP isn't a jerk for not wanting to attend the wedding, it still is the brother's wedding so he and his wife has every right to have whatever kind of dress cose they want to. No one is a jerk here, but i do think things could be handled much differently and better by both parties here.

Two things: 1. Someone has a service dog they need that service dog and you have no authority or right to say where they can and cannot bring their service dog. That's service dog goes wherever they are person goes no questions asked. If you don't want the dog there then you don't want the person there either. 2. That Grandma is demonstrating some seriously concerning behavior towards her grandchild and I would seriously consider putting her up in a psych ward or something. And honestly I really don't think you can give her a choice in the matter because ultimately I doubt that she's going to make the right choice for the good of herself and for others.

Story 7: I’m a woman who hates wearing dresses/skirts, makeup, purses, et cetera. And, I was asked to be a bridesmaid once and wear a dress and a full face of makeup along with a few other things I wouldn’t be caught in otherwise. There had to be a compromise somewhere, and imo, the person who the event is actually for and about shouldn’t be the one who had to do it. It was an honor to be asked play that part in her wedding and if it makes her happy, I’ll wear all of it for a few hours. It’s not my wedding. It’s not about me and what makes ME comfortable. It’s about her and what makes HER happy. I’d want my wedding to be exactly as envisioned. This isn’t a matter of prejudice, but of actual pride. We need to learn how to love and make sacrifices for others and when it’s appropriate to be on the receiving or giving ends of that sacrifice.

As a person who is invisibly disabled (I only need crutches in winter, and most of the time I only have one within reach if I'm tired) I can really relate to the epilepsy poster; it's exceptionally hard on us when people don't believe/brush off our needs. I have an aunt who doesn't really believe that I'm disabled enough to have a special parking disk; I nearly walked out on Mom's Christmas day lunch when she made a comment that I didn't seem to be bad enough to justify it. Mom saw my face and quickly jumped in to shift the conversation on. Yes, I didn't *seem* to be bad enough but she didn't see the toll it took on my body to just be out of bed, dressed, with makeup on. I had to move from the small cottage I was renting, into living with a family relative, and it resulted in taking me three days of full bed-rest just to recover enough to slowly start taking care of myself and looking for work. Anyone need an admin or basic accounts person or someone to remotely guide their kids through their schoolwork??

Once again my claim is STRONGLY that OP is NOT the jerk in this story, hats off to OP for handling the situation rather well though! I know a lot of other people that are non-binary would have their fuses cut down rapidly and would explode on those that tried to get them to stick to a binary that they didn’t want

the last story is really an everyone sucks, and the irony is op could of put her feeling aside for one day for her family, also people seem to forget that the day is about 2 people and some of these stories is either a family member or a friend wanting the day to be catered to them, also the other thing is if wedding guests dont know op is non binary then it might turn into a coming out and ruin the day for the bride and groom, there is sadly no winning here

Then when the OP follows up the dress code is now mandatory for all guests. Did it change or was that always going to be the outcome? Look I understand some people are all about Tradition, but I do not believe tradition should ever override your family. Tradition sounds great until it includes something that excludes you. Story 1: female here. Had a Susie at FedUp. She still works there. Flirts very badly with all males. But I sadly wasn’t left out. My hubby works with us. She doesn’t flirt with him, I’d see it. I kept asking the managers to put me somewhere else and telling them why. She flirts with them too. Just laughed me off. They talked with her about it. She went to hr. I told them to look at the cameras, they would see her coming at me , claiming I was flirting with one her men. Nope, not me, still happily married and I wouldn’t disrespect my coworkers like that. Hr didn’t care, rolled eyes and fired me. Making sure I couldn’t work at any other FedUp either. She’s not single, tells everyone she’s in a motel because her landlord sucks. She also has 4 kids, 3 large dogs, two ended up giving her 8 puppies.. and 3 vehicles…. What motel is letting all that rent a room. And why didn’t anyone at work catch on to her lies. The happy cheater also lied her bf was abusing her. She’s now manager, still gets nearly all guys to quit, but she thinks it’s the job lol. Hubs still works there but not for much longer, hopefully. He’s got another job lined up. Sadly, I don’t have a lawyer friend whom could have helped me because it’s not slander if it’s true.

this is why males should be treated as equally as females when being sexually harasses, it's ridiculous to think that men can't be raped, when it doesn't just happen in that hole, it also the case in the other where both genders has it, and that too can be injured when something is forcefully inserted into it, without the consent of the victim btw, so yeah men being sexually harassed should taken as seriously as women, not being laughed off like that.

Let's just face it. What the bride and groom wants is their thing. Their day, their way. If you are asked to be part of the bridal party, then know you will adhere to their dressing specifications. In this day and age they really need to be upfront and allow you to turn the honor down. But then dress appropriately as a witness to the matrimony as you feel comfortable. Compromise is easy once you allow it to happen.

Grass is a type of plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. Their appearance as a common plant was in the mid-Cretaceous period. There are 12,000 species now.[1] A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in places such as lawns and parks. Grass is usually the color green. That is because they are wind-pollinated rather than insect-pollinated, so they do not have to attract insects. Green is the best colour for photosynthesis. Grasslands such as savannah and prairie where grasses are dominant cover 40.5% of the land area of the Earth, except Greenland and Antarctica.[2] Grasses are monocotyledon herbaceous plants. They include the "grass" of the family Poaceae, which are called grass by ordinary people. This family is also called the Gramineae, and includes some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[3] These three families are not very closely related, though all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a similar life-style. With around 780 genera and around 12,000 species,[1] the Poaceae is the fifth-largest plant family, after the Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, Fabaceae and Rubiaceae.[4] The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow tall, such as bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[5] This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion).

For that last one, I have to admit OP is being a bit of a jerk. As a fellow non binary person, I’ve stood my ground on the matter of “I’m going to dress in what makes me most comfortable”. That being said, when my sister asked me to attend her wedding I knew she already had an outfit for me in mind. She planned that wedding since we were still rocking single digits, and unfortunately already had to compromise so much of her original plan. From the venue to the catering, and even her in laws going against her will and paying to have an open bar when she’d wanted it to stay a dry event. Her future sister in law was even making it a personal goal to get a more expensive “white” dress. The color was at least nixed by a unanimous ruling from both families, as the color of the women’s dresses had to be burgundy or as close to that color as possible. Which brings me back to my point. My sister wanted me to be there, but she wanted me to wear a nice dress. She even offered to pay for it, which I declined, but the point had been made. I wore the prettiest burgundy dress to my sister’s wedding and I don’t regret it. A beautiful ceremony, a memorable occasion, and it was worth every bit of discomfort. My sister didn’t need me making a stink about my attire on a day that doesn’t concern me. It wouldn’t have made a difference to anyone else, but it mattered to her what I wore. Being able to support my sister in the littlest way meant so much to her. It was a big important event, but in no way does it revolve around me, it’s not my place to make a stink because I personally did’t want to follow a dress code. So yeah, I’d have to say the last OP was being a jerk. Not their day, not their say. If bro really wants them there, they should go for that reason alone. Be a little uncomfortable, it’s one day.

#7 is being the jerk. There’s a reason they said a dress code. It has nothing to do with so much targeting the OP but they want their wedding to look a certain way. If OP shows up wearing a tuxedo but it’s obviously the sister of the groom it just looks weird. No offense, but this is their day. This is their wedding one day to conform is not a huge deal. Missing their wedding would really be a jerk move and would be regretted later. It does no harm to conform for one day. When you’re in a wedding, you wear what they have you wear. The men wear whatever suits their assigned, and the women wear whatever dresses there a sign doesn’t matter what you want to be presenting as if you’re standing on one side of the aisle you’re going to wear with that side of the aisle is wearing.

The last story: so I’ve seen people in the comments are saying “oh they can just put their pride away for a day” first of all, once your out, it’s not that easy to do and sucks. Second, you forget about gender dysphoria. Seeing as clearly none of you know how that feels, so here, it can feel like this: imagine you’re at school, and about to head to your next class, walk into the room, and realize it’s the wrong room. You look around, realizing these are all the wrong people, you shouldn’t be here. Everyone is looking at you, knowing you don’t belong there. You want to get out of the room as quickly as possible. That’s how gender dysphoria can feel. So I hope some of you realize that no, op was not in the wrong, and the bride/groom were being jerks, singling out op, and making them wear something they don’t feel comfortable wearing that gives them gender dysphoria.

Yeah for the last story I only believe in two genders and all that. But in this situation it's a little different and a little simpler. Look your allowed to do what makes you happy and have fun with it. But if someone host a wedding or party they are allowed to set a dress code. And it isn't right to enforce a dress code and allow exceptions. Not they probably could have said it better or phrased it better to the op. But at the end of the day if you go to a hosted a event and there is a dress code. Don't expect any exceptions cause if you hold one person to it you need to hold all of them to it. It's just that simple
