For the pen thieving, if the company provides pens on a consistent basis, fine, dont label company pens. However, if you provide your own, you can do whatever you want to them. I think bringing in that many custom pens is hilarious.

True, IF the pens that the company buys actually write decently. I've had pens that are fresh from the box, but they start clogging up and having issues by the end of the day, causing me to go over the same letters to darken them up, getting hand cramps from how often it happens. Go ahead and bring your own pens, with whatever labels you want.

As someone from the south coast in UK where the best clotted cream comes from I can say it is jam first. Simply because you use the same knife and if cream first you’ll end up with cream in the jam. Cream goes off very quickly so within 24hrs you’ll have a jar of jam that has to be thrown out

Story #3 The OP is not the jerk in the story they're just the peace maker. One side argues jam then cream and the other is cream then jam (side question, wtf is the difference? One is first instead of the other who cares about that one insignificant thing? Op was just accommodating both sides but they get the cold shoulder for not picking a side? This argument is worse than who prefers to spread ketchup over their fries or dip them. You're going to eat it anyway right? So what does it matter how you eat it so long as the resulting taste is satisfying??

My entitled Nana kicked my uncle out of his own home. Hearing these stories made me think of my uncle situation, my uncle is over 80 years old and has some mental issues he’s not crazy just a little not there sometimes and can’t cook because of it I have some issues too and we bonded over this I loved listening to him tell stories about his younger life. When I was old enough to understand stuff I found out why my uncle stayed with us for so long. When his mother died she left her house in his and two other siblings none of which was my Nana’s name she lived in her own apartment but one day she went to there place and made home in there house and no one objected my uncle didn’t fully understand what was going on but was happy because due to him not knowing how to cook only his mother made him food, wouldn’t you think they would cook him a meal nope they left him in his room not providing anything for him. They never made him food or got him groceries he was able to get his own groceries because he was the only one who could drive. One day my mom went over to visit him and saw the horrible conditions he was in his family only ever gave him Cold cans of uncooked food. When my mother discussed this with my Nana my mother didn’t 100% tell me what happened but my mom left furious but from what I can guess and this is only a guess on my part she refused to make my uncle any food and said he was old enough to make his own despite him having a severe mental issues. My mom was upset to say the least and during all this my nana kicked my uncle out of his house, before that they started abusing him both mentally and physically we moved six hours away from our old house to have my uncle live with us because no one wanted to take care of him.

Right now my Nana doesn’t see anything wrong with what she’s doing.

The scone issue is a running joke in the UK. Scones are primarily Devon and Cornwall (Cornish or Devon cream tea's) issues. One county has jam first, the other has cream (don't ask me which is which).

I have a bag of Xmas candy cane pens. I love them because they have a hook on the end and I can hang them anywhere. I keep one hanging above me on my forklift. I know exactly where my pen is when I need one. Someone took my pen and was able to spot it from a long distance and snatched it up

That pen story is, for me, quite relatable. I have a pen case of over 20 pens and pencils (yes I'm into stationery stuff) and during grade 8 I would lose my pens all the time. The worst part of this is that I know and confronted the thief who is a popular boy in class, but he did nothing about it, not even an apology. Since my pens are different from the class (I buys Japanese pens), and I also mark my pens in some ways either by a piece of tape or paper that I write something on it, anyone would be able to tell that "Hey, is it [my name]'s pen?". This would continues to go on until he had been confronted enough and stopped stealing my pens knowing that I will go all out to defeat him. Moral of the story, do not f around someone that treats their pens like gold.

Scone story: This, how I would make all of them feel bad for hating on me. I would take note who is in which camp. Then, I would make scones according to their preferences, and would personally serve them the scones according to their preference at their desk -- in front of everybody else. And I would do the whole waterworks "I don't know why y'all hate me. I just wanted to keep everyone happy and respect their food preferences, and thus promote harmony."

There are two types of ways to eating scones. Devonshire, and Corish. Cornish is jam first, cream second and Devonshire is cream first jam second. I do mine the Cornish way (the proper way)

I kinda relate to story 2. I work for Macys and we have multiple floors, and many departments. In my department (backstage) we get our stuff taken all the time. Our tape dispensers, or staplers, other random stuff supplied by the company. Even the pens always got taken. My manager actually had a pen that said backstage on it, and eventually that too got stolen. This is why I have learned to just keep a pen in my purse I keep on me during work, so I know at least when needed, I have a pen. Several times I let my coworker use it and then it gets lost/taken by someone. And I don't buy cheap pens either. I buy a good quality gel pen as they tend to work best for our counter (some pens just don't write well on paper with some types of surfaces)

If no one gets their own pens, then the company needs to provide them. And human error happens. This means that throughout their shift people may misplace their pens and the pens will need to be replaced. I think it wouldake more sense to just let people have their own pens.

He can wipe the best ever, but every fart has some particulates (typically not even enough to discolor the underwear, but not always). Also, as far as the cholera goes, that bacteria creates a severe elecrolyte imbalance resulting in severe diahreah and vomiting. If untreated, it often leads to death by dehydration, potentially after just a few hours. As far as spreading it goes, it is spread through water contaminated by infected fecal matter. People are the key hosts to the bacteria, and it is still alive and well in most underdeveloped countries, but there has been an occasional infection in developed countries, such as the USA. That does not mention the host of other bacteria that resides in the intestines (and ultimately fecal matter) that can be spread even by the tiniest spread of fecal matter, such as through a fart. As far as the smell goes, that is mainly methane (which goes through underwhere). The particulates are stopped quite well by underwear.

About the pen story. I myself hate it when someone takes my pens. And of course if I borrow someone's pen and walk away with it by accident I will make sure to bring it back once it notice. For my pens I give them a ring of blue tape to be sure I know which one is mine. This probably dates back to my primary school years where sometimes my stuff would go missing. :/

It's not always that easy. I put up with a lot of crap at work sometimes. There are several reasons for this. One is the fact that I do have a few friends there who will help me with anything I need. And I live three blocks of from work. I won't find another job that close.

Once I was stuck in a toxic work environment. It didn't start that way, but the owner became less and less present in the small business, and we all suffered for it. I could have had them shut down if I documented everything, but I instead put my efforts in finding a better place. It took time, but now I'm making almost double what I was at my last place and I love it here. As for things coming in due time? That last company is now closed after someone forged a payroll check about 6 months after I left and bankrupted them (dodged that bullet).

Like seriously. I think there should obviously be certain things that it wouldn't be okay to record. But IN GENERAL - I think the fact that most states are an "all party state" is ridiculous. Who is going to say anything when they know they are being recorded?!?! NOBODY. Which is why those laws need to be changed. Ambers story is the perfect example. If she was NOT allowed to use those recordings SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN SCREWED, and would have been the victim and nobody would have cared. F-THAT. 1 party all day. Even if it got ME MYSELF screwed I would still admit that it was the way things should be. BTW I say "al party" because that is really what it is. In America it's against the law to do so, so you must inform the person. Just in case you need to take it to the cop and lawyer. They can use it in court without too much trouble. It's best to trick the person. Like sending a text, email, or saying it out loud to the person you wish to record.

@@bluedragonfox well lemme say I am not a lawyer but I'm sure that each state has some sort of variation of it. Like I think in a few states like Louisiana. You can drink alcohol outside while walking but in other states its illegal.

Question: What is a "single consent state", I'm over in North West England, so I'm not really familiar with how american states work?

Just means that if the person wants to record. They can. They don’t need your consent

It's a "one-party consent" law. That means if at least one party being recorded, or having a picture taken, obtained from an area available to the public, is ok with it, then it is ok, as you can be considered a party. To be considered to be a party you must be a part of it in some way. When it comes to recording or picture taking on private property things get muddled. For example, making a recording from a street toward a house is ok in such a state, but going up to the house (which tends to mean onto private property, such as a yard or driveway) and recording is not ok unless the owner or equivalent gives permission.
