Dirtiest Car Ever! BMW Full Interior Removal and Detail BMW 5 Series

This is a BMW 5 series from Kars4kids.org. Unfortunately, it was going to be destroyed (crushed) due to the extreme mold and urine smell from mice infestation. Clearly, the vehicle is not able to be sold in this condition, nor is it safe to perform a restoration detail. However, with a Chlorine Dioxide tablet disinfection, we could then disassemble the interior parts and clean behind all doors, buttons, seats, etc...where more mold and mildew will be hiding. In most cases, the detail cost more than the actual car, but in this instance, the parts are more valuable as individual car parts...then as an entire car! So we detailed the Bio Hazard BMW 5 series just to get the parts clean to be resold individually after its auctioned. At the very end we tally up all the hours of disgusting detailing and polishing so that you can get a rough idea of cost vs value. Hope you enjoy! -L

If you’re concerned about to panel/trim clips breaking during future details, you can order kits off Amazon with different assortments of sizes for $15-$20. Kits typically are made for one specific manufacturer. You could keep one for each of the common manufacturers on hand in the shop.

Finally you listened to me and removed the interior trim for a real cleaning . Good advice : cover your ears with earplugs so the germs and gases doesn't take it's way in your ears because there is a canal between the ears and throat so actually you may breath by your ears so be careful .

I can easily relate to this. I work at a scrapyard, and only deal with the automotive recycling side of it. You have to go in the cars sometimes to pull stuff out that can't be shredded or crushed for safety and environmental reasons. It gets really disgusting sometimes. Even this bad. Which is why you refuse to go in those kind of cars.

Yah how does this work legally? The car was totaled as a biohazard, and those hazards still exist. The unsuspecting buyer of, say, the back seat would get a massive chunk of foam and upholstery full of nasty.

Ozone has no effect on bacteria, mold or VOC... It's effect on odours are also questionable, as it mainly "masks" the smells so you smell ozone in stead. Also: Ozone is toxic... The generators are also not maintenance free as often being claimed.

Figured I would ask the Ammo community for advice here. I’m a detailer from Columbia, SC and my business is growing and I’m looking to get into machine polishing. I’ve used the Meguiars ultimate compound and polish by hand to finish off headlight restorations and I’ve done some spot correcting, but I’m to the point where I would greatly benefit from a machine polisher. What polisher, pads, and liquids should I get. It seems like the general consensus is that the Rupes 15mkiii is the best general purpose machine but that seems to be where the consensus ends. That car is not restored. Sure, it’s cleaned, but the areas they didn’t touch are likely just as disgusting as everywhere else, so this would need a complete disassembly. Years ago I was looking for a newer car. I found a cobalt but it had this twingy mold smell to it. Car fax said it was flooded. But this car is beyond anything I've seen before.

Another brilliant video just one thing would you not be safer running the cars ventilation system when using that chlorine tablet to make sure there is no legionella spores in the ducts etc also removal of the pollen filter too as we know spores and grems like to hide there too
