@@avantika6077 When Dna duplicates in S phase of interphase having 46 Chromosome with 46 chromatid . After replication it forms 46 chromosome with 92 chromatid. In each duplicated chromosome 2 chromatids are exact copy of each other and are known as sister chromatid. These chromatid seperate in Mitosis to form two daughters. Each daughter will have 1 chromtid out of two and as these chomatids were similar so they are exact copy of parent . In Meisis crossing over takes place in Prophase so Chromatids are not similar so all 4 daughter are different.

This side by side explanation is so dang helpful! I have my second Bio10 exam next week covering several subjects, including meiosis and mitosis. When put side by side like this, you can really see the obvious differences. Seeing that meiosis PMAT 2 is similar to mitosis PMAT 1 really helped me flesh out the differences and similarities. Mind blown over the zygote immediately starting mitosis, I was curious about this. So meiosis is JUST for creating sperm and egg, and once sperm and egg meet, it's back to mitosis. Awesome! I always come back to this video whenever I get mixed up. I try to remember that Mitosis is for exact replication where at Meiosis allows for the "shuffling" of genes which creates variations in the gametes. Meiosis is "My"-osis, since gametes is what makes individuals organisms (including us)
