A very unpopular opinion, but I love the new groove Amon Amarth have picked up over the last few years. Their older stuff is really good, too, but this new stuff is just plain fun to listen to.
@SwissCheese6673 жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree. I love their very first album (Once Sent from the Golden Hall) and I think that until "With Oden at our Side" (included) their material was solid, if not consistently great. Then it went downhill and now they seem to be on full "auto-mode": generic riffs, dumbed-down song structures, uninspired bland lyrics - not much death metal left in their sound at all. It's more like pop music with distorted sound and growls. Their old stuff is miles above this mediocre routine job.

According to sagas such as the Heimskringla, Berzerkir were elite warriors, highly trained, armed and armored. Not shirt less raging muscle masses. Actually going on a rage in battle was looked down by real warriors because the rage was a way to overcome fear. The hole berzerkr rage is mostely a myth spread out by the survivors of viking raids to diabolise them.
