Amtrak Extra Train

Hey Everyone! Today (3/1/24) after school, I found out Avelia Liberty Trainset #8 (TS8) was making a ferry move back to Philadelphia under the identification Amtrak Extra Train #845 after testing in Southampton Yard during the week. So me and my friend from school headed to Secaucus Junction to see it as that was the only place we could make it to in time to see it before it passed.

Thanks! I suggest joining a northeast corridor up facebook group or the Amtrak next generation equipment facebook group to find out information on when the Avelia is out testing if you have facebook. I personally don't have it but my dad keeps an eye on those pages and let's me know when he sees something

Sorry to hear that. I suggest joining a heads up group on Facebook, specifically the Amtrak Next Generation equipment group, to find out when Avelia is out testing or a NEC heads up group of Facebook

When does it start service?

Amtrak is saying late 2024, but it is possible that further delays can occur as the the service start day as it has already been pushed back mutiple times
