Great cab view/ride along. The sounds of the cab make the ride along even more realistic.

A little high on the cab perspective and a little fast running but other than that it is a work of art, and the cab view takes it to another level than just a regular video view. Great Job.

Best model cab ride video I have seen on YT. Loved the cab window overlay. Is there a map of the layout on-line anywhere? Would be fun to see where the train goes. I used to live in Northlake, right next to Elmhurst in the 1970's. Model railroading has come a long way since then.

Railtastic video! How do you get the camera inside the cab of a locomotive like that? I'm really interested to know.
@WorldOfNothin11 жыл бұрын
well the cab interior looks to be a picture, I would say it was either part of a program he owns that allows him to place this over the video to make it look like the video is from inside the cab or he took the photo and using a program like photoshop, removed the window area so it was just empty space and then through some video editing added the pic with out the window area over top the video to give it the look! with the right programs and a little bit of knowledge on how to do it, this isn't necessarily a super hard thing to do!

@PittsburghMainline10 жыл бұрын
wkblauwster Ok, what do you mean by save it as .png? What photoshop program would you recomend?
@wkblauwster10 жыл бұрын
the program is called Photoshop XD adobe Photoshop. i just use a hacked version XD to use it is really easy. and there are about a milion tutorials online on how to do it. 2. a picture can be saved as many differend file types. you have: .jpg .png .psd .gif and many more .jpg is the most used and has the lowes file size. .png has bigger file size but also better kwalitie and can save transparent backgrounds. .psd are the work files of adobe photoshop .gif are 10 ore more foto's that play after one another, making it look like a little video. to make the windows disepear in photoshop: first start a new file (1920x1080) for full HD make sure you click the transparent background button. and hit oke. then drag the screenshot or photo ontop of the background. now there are two ways to continu 1 use teh Quick scelect tool and celeckt the window area. then use the erease tool and just ereas the window. 2 you can do it all by hand with the erease tool for any more questions just ask

How the hell did you get the camera inside the locamotive please respond
@nsmodeler2410 жыл бұрын
After putting out ads for months for small people, I finally had a bit of luck when a person responded who was small enough to fit inside one of my HO scale locomotives. I then handed him my working HO scale video camera and put him in the cab! I ran him around the layout a few times, paid him, and it was that easy! haha Im just messing with you... It was taken with a gopro camera mounted on a train car and then I used video and photo editing software to overlay the F40PH cab interior photo.

If you want to use the cab interior overlay, you should mount the camera lower to give proper perspective. Or just leave the overlay off so I can enjoy the full view.
@baconsnot8 жыл бұрын
+Bacon Snot Infact, just mount the camera lower either way. All these cab rides have the camera view so high, that in real life you'd have to be standing on top of the train to get that perspective. Pro tip: make a custom locomotive and strip it to the chassis to mound the camera at the exact operator position, and mount one looking out the side and slightly forward on one of the cars to give a passenger view.
