N&W Railway in Trainz - Cargo Movin' People

I've found N&W's 1980s theme song "Cargo Moving People" to probably be my favorite alongside Amtrak's little commercial ditties. Here's a back-to-basics Trainz music video with a bunch of different N&W equipment from varying eras. A friend of mine retired from NS not long after the merger. One of the gifts he received was a very thin 45 record of this song folded up in an envelope. It had the "NW" logo in the center with the title of the song underneath.

Actually, the Southern wasn't as big of a threat in terms of competition as the C&O. Both the C&O and N&W ran practically within the same territories, and both were huge coal haulers, pulling trains after trains of coal out of the Appalachian mountains

Don't get me wrong I'm from the west coast but personally even though I wasn't born till way after there mergers Santa Fe( ATSF) and the southern Pacific are my favorite railroads atleast until there mergers with Bn Burlington northern and the up Union pacfic

Union pacfic Never changed it just incorporated everything else Southern Pacific had ....as for ATSF and BN now know as the BNSF I'm assuming they just merged one company into the other company but changed the name and livelry of there current fleet

Both are great companies and there are a few steam locomotives that are still around from 3 of those companies for example as everyone knows big boy 4014 and southern Pacific 4449 and for ATSF they have 3751 and a few other's Bn Burlington northern idk bout them they were formed in the 70s so I doubt they have any thing related to steam power

This song brings back memories of school mornings in the early 70's, eating my breakfast, while dad Listened to JP McCarthy on WJR...In that half hour before the school bus, I was going to here the following three comercials: "Northwest Orient..(GONG)..Airlines" followed by "Norfolk and Western, There's no stopping us....." and before we ran out of the house "We're American Airlines, Doin' What we do best."
