For anyone here that using premiere pro (like me). Just use the tint effect to mimic the saturation adjust (set it about 40% to 60%) and the brightness and contrast is the same ( just do some math in your head like 0.4 in Sony Vegas is 40% in premiere pro). Hope this help

I actually have a computer that was specially made for me by some computer people I know, so that's why it runs Vegas so smoothly. Also it looks even smoother than it normally would be because I have the video sped up in some parts xD BUT it should work well on any computer that is at least Windows 7 or higher with at least 4 GB RAM and a 2 GHz possessor for SV 13. Here is the page that lists the specific requirements if you wanted to check it out: www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/techspec (these requirements might be lower for older versions of SV though, I'm not sure) Now, even though it says these are the requirements it IS possible to run it on a computer that is a little slower than that, but it will lag A LOT. My old computer fell short of a couple of the requirements and it lagged so much editing wasn't even fun anymore. Basically the computer I have is a really nice gaming computer so it has strong video possessing systems. If you're looking to get a computer that will run it better just tell the people at the store that you want to run SV on it, or that you're looking for a nice gaming computer. And a desktop will always be better than a laptop for this stuff too. In the mean time if you free up space on your computer your SV should run better. I had to get an external hard drive for mine, and still use it actually. It makes everything faster and also protects your files.

You're welcome! And yes there is actually. Click on the very first clip and click on "select events to end." now all of the clips on that track should be selected. Now you can right click on any of them and disable resample and it should be done for all of them (keep in mind though that only the ones on that track will be selected, so if you have multiple tracks you'll have to do that to all of them that have video clips) :)

Let me play around with it when I get home and see if I can find another way to access those features from the green button. In the meantime you can always try lowering the opacity of the overlay clip. It's not great but it might do in a pinch. As for them not wanting to enter SV you might have to convert them to a different video file format. SV is sooooo picky when it comes to file types for whatever reason >.< like mine will not do avi files...

I make AMVs on Vine and I really want a better editing program than Windows Movie Maker Live so I can use things such as pre-made transitions and overlays, but Sony Vegas Pro is really expensive and I can't afford it. Is there any programs that can do the same functions as Sony Vegas Pro, but less expensive (or free)?

MajestySenpai✧*:・゚ I got my SV for about $165. I bought it from a site that had student discounts. For me that was worth it because I knew it would work properly, as oppose to finding a free illegal version to download online (although I know many editors do use free versions). Before I had SV though I used a free program called Videopad Video Editor that was a step up from WMM. That might be a good option for you right now. Eventually I'm sure you'll want to get something like SV later on once you outgrow it, but for now it could be good :) You can find it easily by Googling it. It has some good transitions and an overlay track, and it's a closer software design to SV so you'll have an easier time learning SV if/when you decide to get it.

+Paizeth You can just do a search for "video overlays" on youtube, that's how I found all of mine. If you'd like I also posted 2 overlay videos where you can get all of the overlays I use. There's a link to one of them in the description :) As for picking which ones to use I suggest firstly finding ones that are high video quality, because even if your main footage is HD if the overlay is too low quality it will make everything look bad. Then I look for overlays that are mostly black with accenting bright/colorful parts that move in a way that fits what kind of video you're making. For example, if you're making a fast upbeat video then you want an overlay that also moves quickly or has parts that burst or flash across the screen, vs if you're making a slow/more emotional video then you want an overlay that moves slowly or is mostly going to effect the overall color of the footage. So those are the main points I look for when picking which overlay to use. I hope that's what you meant so I hope that helps haha

Sorry, I'm not totally sure what you mean. Is it that you're trying to get the saturation effects on all of your video clips but it is only appearing on the one of them? Or vise versa?

At 0:20 it shows you which button to press to do that. On the video you want the saturation effect there will be 2 little buttons on the bottom right corner, press the one on the far right and it will take you to the effects list where you can select the saturation effect, and that will put it on only that clip.

+Borek Adam Yup! To bring the clip to the length you'd like you can either drag the right hand edge to the point in the track that you would like it to end at, OR you can use the Split tool. Place the curser where you would like the clip to end and press the S key. Super quick and easy
