Perhaps… I don’t know. They were very supportive at the time. But it was right at the start of the shift from cd/cassette single buying madness to Napster free downloading and everyone was scrambling. The music industry including its artists and performers and writers are all trying to figure out a way to make money from music now which is seen as disposable by a large majority. A right they should have for free without the knowledge of the work, time, money and exhaustion that goes into making it, perfecting the live shows and the myriad of ways it is attempted to be put out to the public. Long story short, I hold no grudges and feel nothing but gratitude x

I’ve had a recollection of this song at the back of my mind for years. I used to watch a lot of music television in the late 90s/early 00s and I had remembered a few elements of the song and music video such as a few words of the lyrics “sometimes I feel…” and the costume and set style and part of the video taking place on a beach, but I couldn’t remember who sung it or the song title. Finally re-discovered it today after almost 20 years. Really lovely song and great video direction and style.

Such a masterpiece. For me, it’s one of the best music videos ever created. I love how much art and detail is in the background.
