I started going down a scary booze spiral at Amy's age. Drinking alone in my room, every night, hiding bottles. I was so attached to my wine, and when the wine ran out I would get beer, and then vodka, or whatever I could get my hands on. I wish I never touched that poison. I had no interest in it in high school or college, but somehow after college, I got into it, and just kept drinking until one day I decided that if I don't stop now, I will have no life. I did, at 32, and the next 10 years were the best of my life. I've been booze-free for 17 years now, and it's one of my proudest achievements in life.

I moved to Mexico in early 2006 for 2 years and it wasn't until I returned I got back into the music scene but not to the same extent as before as I had a young son and was planning on moving to the US, but I heard her music and loved it. I got my US visa, booked a flight on the 26/07/11 and was so excited until the 23rd when I heard on the news she'd passed. Kinda put a dampener on things. RIP Amy gone too soon x

If you listen to her songs you'll know she was incredibly creative and talented - but what struck me most was her realness - she poured out her heart in her music and enriched many many lives. She truly had so much more to give and was tragically never loved the way she deserved (in her private life, I mean). It's really such a shame that she left us much, much too soon. Her death should teach us that the still prevalent taboo of therapy and mental health problems is killing people. For celebrities this problem is often excacerbated cuz if anyone comes close to you, you'll find they're often out to get something from you. It can be a very lonely place, as digging into biographies will teach you time and time again. We can all help our favourite artists by not f--ing buying any tabloid magazines full of made-up stories and paparazzi photos. And as die-hard-fans, to give them space and see them for what they are: People with needs and pain like you and me.

i'm an alcoholic and i've taken librium for withdrawals a few times (more than i'd like to admit) with valium/ativan, like they mentioned, through an IV. it's actually a godsend, it makes it so you can quit without seizing and dying. and makes going cold turkey so much more bearable. i was first prescribed it after seizing from withdrawals and after that i needed it every time i fell off the wagon again and wanted to stop. it didn't solve all my problems but it at least initially got me sober every time. and now i work on the rest in AA lol
@sciencenotsrigma8 ай бұрын
@@annnee6818. The video said Amy refused another prescription, which implies that the doctor offered the pills to her again. At any rate, it sounds like you’re correct, in saying that’s not what killed her…unless she hadn’t been taking the pills and took them later, while drinking, but I haven’t heard that mentioned as a cause of death.
