My first time here! So excited! I’m so sorry about your momma. I lost mine almost 12 years ago and it was a shock to all of us. It is very hard to lose a parent. Be kind to yourself.. don’t let anyone tell you how to grieve. Everyone grieves differently and you take as long as you need. ❤️🙏🏼

I just want to say thank you for posting and sharing this. I’m a muralist, but all my sample attempts were second rate. I tried your sure fire method, and did 3 great columns for an exterior Victorian job in San Francisco. Now I’m going my kitchen wall. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with the world.

Dear Amy, thank you so much for making this great video tutorial. I'm making a Book Nook at the moment. It's going to be an old Victorian style miniature library when it's finished and I decided to give it a miniature marble tiled floor, even though I had no idea how to create a faux marble finish 😅. I've looked everywhere on the internet for a good tutorial and I finally found yours, thank goodness. Lots of love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia P.S Your mother would be very proud of you. My mum died of Alzheimer's disease in 2017 and I still miss her everyday. You have my deepest sympathy. ❤

This video came at a perfect time for me. I was caregiver for both parents. My mom was last to pass almost three years ago and I have been really grieving these last few weeks. Really for the first time because I've been so busy. I came because I am really interested in faux and custom finishes. When you started talking about your mom passing it was like God reminding me he knows where I am and what I'm going through. My father was a Church of God pastor. And when you mentioned TN it was another nudge. I am so grateful. I laughed and cried. You showed me that you're a real person thats passionate about what you do and it really encouraged me. God bless you. I'm heading to Ace Hardware tomorrow for my products. I am really excited. I felt the shell crack tonight and I feel like I can make it. Thanks for being so sweet and vulnerable. It really made the difference for me. I will be praying for your Pops.

Amy I am new to your blog and I have gotten so touched by your words and I do have to say that I am so sorry for your loss. Time will help mourning and healing. I have lost my husband, mom, and dad 11 years ago and in the same year...all my strength and life were gone at that time. With my loss, I have found that life can be beautiful again because of the memories we can embrace from the loved ones that are not with us physically but in our hearts! I wish from the bottom of my heart that the love and memories of your beloved mom will fullfill your sadness and help you to go on. I am using the art to brighten my days and learning techniques with you! ---@

Just tried this technique on my kitchen counters. 10/10 would recommend. I used a few colors of inexpensive acrylic paint (79cents per bottle) and mod podge instead of glazing medium. The ratios remained the same, and the white wash step really does add dimension. I ended up doing 2 more white washes at the end because I wanted a very white counter, and then a layer of iridescent pain and some mica flakes on top. Now to spend the next week applying layers of sealer to make it extra glossy! lol

Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Great work and thanks for showing it in such a simple manner. After years of construction work in various trades and surface treatments ( paint, texture, wallpaper, etc. ) my preferred areas are carpentry and faux finishes and this work can marry the two. You make it look easier than it actually is; without an artistic inclination to know when and how to connect the components one will always struggle to make it look natural. It definitely is not a paint by numbers task. I'll subscribe and search for more of your videos

Let me just say.. YESSSSS! Thank goodness finally someone gets it. Sure you can dump paint and all kinds of chemicals but it doesn’t quite get the “made over thousand years” look! You get it. The sandwich or double Oreo analogy is perfect. And usually I have anxiety watching a lot of these videos about halfway thru and yeah they turn out ok in the end but it’s never quite right. This is the closest I’ve seen. Great job 👍

Indeed, it is a wonderful work. I have learned and benefited a lot from you, and I intend in the coming days to do this thing and practice it because it is truly enjoyable and brilliantly attractive work.

I found this one today. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. Praying for you and your family. Regarding this process, I have an old armoire of my daughters that we are painting (French Blue). I thought about buying a piece of real marble to turn it into a coffee bar. But after seeing you do this, I believe I will but a piece of masonite board and create a faux marble instead!!!! Thank you for filming this. You're such a blessing. #madforcattails

Thank you Amy. We used your glaze and your technique to do our counter tops and they came out amazing. Def a 3D real look. We added 2 coats epoxy and it looks like marble! Thank you.

which brand of epoxy may I ask? i am stumped at the next stage... epoxy? or some kind of sealer?

@@Fefe559 I used Giani countertop kit. I combined their paints with Amy glaze to create marble look. The Giani kit has 2 cans of unmixed epoxy which work perfectly.

@@peteyc1705 but doesnt epoxy yellow? I did not use a kit as I am a artist and have so many paints... but I did use really good base colours, paint that is moisture resistant and nothing can bleed through, but its most white counter tops, the veins I did very light and soft with some warm gold tones in the veins. I just have no idea which product to use to seal my painting so it looks hard and a light sheen like stone. non yellowing. who knows. everyone does their veins in the epoxy and I dont like that look as much plus I needed more than a hour work time to make them look 100% real.

I am really impressed with your video. I am planning to redo my basement countertop so your technique will help!! So far, the other videos I have watched didn't help much. It just doesn't look as real as your finish product here! Thank you!! I just subscribed to your channel!

I am watching your video for the first time. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Keep creating and replicating the creativity and loving sharing of your Mom with me. I lost my brother-in-law a week ago. Creating makes live more real and draws us closer to the Creator who made us.
