This video came at a perfect time for me. I was caregiver for both parents. My mom was last to pass almost three years ago and I have been really grieving these last few weeks. Really for the first time because I've been so busy. I came because I am really interested in faux and custom finishes. When you started talking about your mom passing it was like God reminding me he knows where I am and what I'm going through. My father was a Church of God pastor. And when you mentioned TN it was another nudge. I am so grateful. I laughed and cried. You showed me that you're a real person thats passionate about what you do and it really encouraged me. God bless you. I'm heading to Ace Hardware tomorrow for my products. I am really excited. I felt the shell crack tonight and I feel like I can make it. Thanks for being so sweet and vulnerable. It really made the difference for me. I will be praying for your Pops.

Amy I am new to your blog and I have gotten so touched by your words and I do have to say that I am so sorry for your loss. Time will help mourning and healing. I have lost my husband, mom, and dad 11 years ago and in the same year...all my strength and life were gone at that time. With my loss, I have found that life can be beautiful again because of the memories we can embrace from the loved ones that are not with us physically but in our hearts! I wish from the bottom of my heart that the love and memories of your beloved mom will fullfill your sadness and help you to go on. I am using the art to brighten my days and learning techniques with you! ---@

Dear Amy, thank you so much for making this great video tutorial. I'm making a Book Nook at the moment. It's going to be an old Victorian style miniature library when it's finished and I decided to give it a miniature marble tiled floor, even though I had no idea how to create a faux marble finish 😅. I've looked everywhere on the internet for a good tutorial and I finally found yours, thank goodness. Lots of love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia P.S Your mother would be very proud of you. My mum died of Alzheimer's disease in 2017 and I still miss her everyday. You have my deepest sympathy. ❤

My heart goes out to you and I know the pain your in. You never stop missing your mom you just learn to cope with the hurt .I am living in her house and I am redecorating her kitchen. I was always the on to replaced appliances when they worn out coming to the rescue when water was all over the floor from the washing machine breaking down. I am now fixing the kitchen and you have given me some great ideas. I am going to practice this . Thank you Laura Crismond, Front Royal, VA

Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Great work and thanks for showing it in such a simple manner. After years of construction work in various trades and surface treatments ( paint, texture, wallpaper, etc. ) my preferred areas are carpentry and faux finishes and this work can marry the two. You make it look easier than it actually is; without an artistic inclination to know when and how to connect the components one will always struggle to make it look natural. It definitely is not a paint by numbers task. I'll subscribe and search for more of your videos

Just tried this technique on my kitchen counters. 10/10 would recommend. I used a few colors of inexpensive acrylic paint (79cents per bottle) and mod podge instead of glazing medium. The ratios remained the same, and the white wash step really does add dimension. I ended up doing 2 more white washes at the end because I wanted a very white counter, and then a layer of iridescent pain and some mica flakes on top. Now to spend the next week applying layers of sealer to make it extra glossy! lol

Wow! Thanks for the best tutorial ever! Soon I'll be ready to try this. It may take a few experiment boards first! Lol Two years now huh? A lot of time and no time at all; that's how grief works. Maybe now it's hitting you hard. Forever is a really long time. 😢 I hope you and yours are healing and finding peace in your hearts. ((Hugs)) as time marches on.
