Amy, good job. I love a Mom who doesn't overwhelm her kids with a full plate. I like that each kid a bite of what you offered. I did the same thing when my kid was young. Today, they like just about everything.

I seriously doubt Amy Maryon would allow any of her youngins go hungry for more than a minute. She is the best Mama! Can't hardly wait for her next video. Love every little and every lesson and life moment she shares and teaches! Best Mama Ever! Teaching them right!

I used to do the same thing when my kids were younger and I made their plates. Never know what they're in the mood for, what they will eat all of and trying to have as little wasted food as I could. They knew they could always have more, they never were hungry and it helped so less was wasted!

Am I the only one who thinks she always looks prettier in the videos than in the posed beginning photo? She's pretty either way (duh, you see her??) but I just love how she comes off as the casual neighbor you totally love and maybe are a little jealous of because they have their life so together in the videos hahaha. So like she's just a sort of casual beautiful? Lol

We had 6 kids in the family, they each had their place at the table. On the table each child had their own spot and color of large and small plate, bowel, glass and silverware. After each meal that child was responsible for washing, drying and returning their dinner wear back to their spot and turned upside down on their placemat. Mom did the pots and pans etc. each child got to pick their color, blue, green, red, orange, yellow and purple. It worked beautifully.

Mum with lots of energy, well done. In our culture we teach our kids to clean their plates properly by using their index fingers, so encourage zero wastage, we believe that the last bits that’s left on the plate is a blessing from God , so we don’t throw it away.

We homeschool as well. I also so relate with the small portions makes less get tossed and those who want more can get them! I also love where you give some kids a scoop of veg and some you get just the carrots I have some picky ones like that :)

did anyone who is crying over portion size realize that they are using a big plate, they are children, she used left overs and again this is one meal out of so many!! and all the parents saying " my kids would starve and i feed them way more" good for you, are you only feeding your child once a day? bc if thats the case...then yes they would starve.... wasn't expecting all these judgmental ppl leaving ridiculous comments!! AMY YOU ARE DONG A FANTASTIC JOB, I HAVE 5 KIDS FROM 4 -16 AND THEIR MEALS LOOK LIKE YOURS, HONESTLY WHY GIVE THEM TONS TO WASTE SO OTHER PPL CAN FEEL BETTER! We had 12 in our family, no dishwasher, and my sister and i did the dishes every night - we took turns washing and drying- washing was preferred! I helped cook as well. But my mom would scrape the uneaten food into a brown grocery bag lined with newspaper on the bottom of the bag (late 60’s early 70’s). Then that bag went into the trash can. So funny now. Someone spilled their drink every night, but my mom just got up, got a towel and mopped it up.

I serve him first and he will wait until i get my food and sit and eat with him. And that's just him i never taught him to wait for me.

That's how my kids are as well. I have 8 kids to serve but no one eats till I have made my plate. We always sit together for dinner and everyone is responsible for there plate as well. Hey from Tennessee 👋🏻 i totally relate about not getting to eat with your kids. I tried to at first but by the time I fix all the plates and get everything ready they’re finishing up when I’m just sitting down. Holidays and stuff I eat with them. That’s just what it is right now. I was watching the video about the “along fit yoga pants”.I ordered me some from amazon . I tried using the code AMYAF001 ,but I guess it’s expired. They should be delivered 2moro. I got size small I was debating on small or medium.I’m 5’6 and weigh 138 .🤞🏻🤞🏻I Hope they fit I usually wear medium , but it said they’re stretchy, We’ll see. Have a blessed weekend 🙂

You do a great job and so many yummy ideas to make meals interesting. I love that the girls pitch in and do the production line thing getting food ready for the freezer. I only had 4 kids and they did help out most of the time. Really wish I could have come up with some of the neat ideas you make up though. You mentioned you had other family members coming in later to eat. I am a little concerned regarding keeping their food warm for them. I would hate for anyone to get a sore tummy or worse from food stored incorrectly. I got food poisoning once when I was in another country and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Take care, love the video.

All these negative people talking about portions... This mom knows her kids and how much they typically eat. It's better to give them a smaller portion and serve them more afterwards than to give them huge portions and either force them to eat more than they want or waste a ton of food. I nanny 4 kids and they probably eat smaller portions then some of these kids...

I think people forget that one slice of bread is considered a full serving. So if she cut the bun in half it would equal one bun half/slice of bread. One of the kids went back for more grapes. I am sure the kids will ask for more food if they are hungry. My little guy used to be more of a snacker. A cheese stick, 4 apple slices and a boiled egg would be a great lunch for him. Everyone is different.

I agree about the portions. Not sure what the kids do, however, I dont see any of the kids in gymnastics, sports, etc. I didnt eat much though I was large into sports. What I did notice is a lot of meat, and carbs, and use of lots of prepared seasonings, that have lots of salt. Not a lot of greens or salad. But..... I haven't watched all the videos, especially when they sit for meals.

you belong to a community grow lot, why are you putting all the scraps from your plates into the garbage...you should be composting it, you will discover how much less garbage you have at the end of the week each week! not judging, but saying you will be amazed at how much less waste you have each week, anyway, its just a thought =) you are a dynamo and sort of a hero!!!! =)
@amymaryon6 жыл бұрын
+avonleanne I agree! We used to have chickens and we never threw food away! When we stopped having them due to bears, etc that is the one thing I noticed I did not like doing.
