I actually managed to keep a nighttime routine going for a good few months when i got a second set of earlobe piercings. I'd had a Reaction when i first switched out my earrings in my first pair because apparently the post on the earrings i changed to was too short, so I spent six months paranoid about an infection, and i guess that transferred over to the new piercings a decade later. I managed to fold skincare, brushing teeth, cleaning my ears and simple prayer into a small devotational ceremony and kept it up for several months. That was probably the best my skin ever looked lol
@Number81ght4 ай бұрын
I struggled to keep on top of my piercings too. Ended up keeping an anti-septic spray bottle in every place I usually go/sit, and set alarms. Always ended up spraying it at least once, when I actually bothered.
@crystald36554 ай бұрын
I would link piercing care to something you already regularly do like letting the dog out for the first time and last time or brushing teeth etc. any well established habit will work.
@Number81ght4 ай бұрын
@@crystald3655 most people get used to it, but I (unfortunately) tend to neglect hygiene. I have autism, and one of the things with it is hygiene neglect. I forget to shower, brush my teeth, and clean piercings. I tend to only shower when I remember too, which is usually the day before I have to go somewhere. Same for brushing my teeth. I only remember day of. This is why I had to set alarms. I would forget they were there and leave it. I have to do the same with medication.

For me, putting on make up has become part of my morning routine. I use waterproof eye make up and super stay lipstick that actually stays on my lip all day. However... 80% of the time, I forget to remove my make up in the evening (or just can't motivate myself to it).
