@kellijones64812 жыл бұрын
Once he left, it never felt like The Office again. Myself and many others knew months in advance that he was leaving the show. I heard from a lot of people that it wouldn’t hurt the quality of the show, even hearing from one of my friends that “oh Jim and Pam will carry the show for another 3 or 4 seasons, they’re the heart of The Office anyway” and no disrespect to Jim and Pam but a lot of the interest in them was gone after Niagara, because we didn’t get another 3 or 4 seasons, we got one pretty crappy one that had a few moments and the god awful season 9 (with the exception of the Finale). Michael Scott was the heart of the show. It’s why I was thrilled when he showed up in the series finale, because even though it was just a small cameo, it just felt right, after enduring how terrible the last season was, we had finally come full circle and it was The Office once again. I’m glad I watched season 8 and 9 despite not liking them, but in my 5 rewatches of the show, I always watch the first seven seasons, then skip ahead to the final three episodes
@N367992 жыл бұрын
@@kellijones6481 I couldn’t agree more. I feel like Steve Carrels departure from the show shouldn’t have even been reality as the final 2 seasons could have been so much more with him included but honestly I think it was Rainn Wilson (Dwight Shrute) who carried the final seasons as his character development from season 1-9 was absolutely amazing and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. The show could’ve been so much more entertaining and enjoyable if Steve Carrel had stayed on but it is what it is.

Interesting watching this it picks up on the rumours that Steve Carrell didn’t totally choose to leave and at the time he did and that the network didn’t want him ( god knows why but that has been a rumour for a while) . In the same way they seemed to dislike how big Steve became they punished Ed Helms for his Hangover success by giving him crappy stories in the end, ruining Andy and ending him as a failure and a fool.
