My take...Trump is a bully. Like a bully in the classroom, some kids line up and get strength supporting a bull, some take on the bully, some cower and make themselves small so as to survive a bully. All are distracted and off task because of the bully. A bully and his minions have the media and power. As a teacher, I had to take on and control the bully in my classroom in order to provide a safe space to learn. I could handle the bully, and then all could learn, relax, and focus. A teacher is an adult and can take on a child bully. We need a strong leader(s) to break the hold of our bully. It takes restoring the mental health of the population, shutting off the bully's access to intimidation. The teacher in me sees America as an upset classroom with a bully in charge. We need a strong unifying leader(s) to settle us down.
@theresethomas62762 ай бұрын
Could media preempt the next elections with some CPTSD pods, KZbin shorts, IG etc bits relating to and targeting all groups (males, females, religiouscultural,and minority groups) with mental health tips etc that talks to each group specifically and "hears" them for the foreseeable future. Not ads exactly. Then, we could run a candidate that can speak to the fact that we have all felt marginalized and bullied. We all carry that trauma. Trump has campaigned for years straight. We need to quietly "campaign" all thr time.
@axllii2 ай бұрын
The "teacher" in your story is usually The ? Party! Todays GOP has abdicated its own power to Trump, which has made GOP organisation redundant and impotent. It's turned into an organisation justifying and supporting any Trump statements, without ANY policy development competence. GOP as a political party is gone as an organistion and should be disbanded! DNC has become an academic fantasy league which mostly discusses intra-group interests, with marginal interests in denying GOP statements. I will be reading your article about Kamala Harris because I thought she was grt in the Senate (questioning Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings). However, her selection as VP to run with Biden I didn't like. Her campaign for President, run by her sister was my problem, coupled with the fact, I believed that anyone, especially a woman in the position she was going into if she agreed to be Biden's VP I found very alarming for her, a politician I had/have great respect for, and because my gut told me that person -- now her -- would likely be ground up. And, when all the dust clears, that's exactly what has happened to Harris. Very sad loss to the Senate, my home state, and the country. First, some attorneys are trial attorneys. She is great with young people, especially encouraging and supporting young 20 somethings. But she is a judge-type. She's very charming, she can be very entertaining, but not when serious matters are on the table. She's serious, a consequential person, and under attack she can't naturally do what Buttigieg did on Jimmy Falon to take Trump down for calling him, Mayor Pete, Alfred E. Newman. And, that needed to be a major hammer in the tool kit for any Democrat through this era. Shapiro has his height and good looks, and Big Gretch is a beautiful hammer. Biden grabbed Harris, I believe in his grief over Beau's death -- they shared that loss and are similarly sensitive especially in this current environment. Don't read this and turn away because Biden is particularly vulnerable in this family area because of his first wife and daughter's death, which seriously injured his sons, too. Further, I attribute his poor debate performance to Hunter's conviction, barely a week b4 the debate.

So I love the way the country pretends it hates identity politics but in the end it votes on identity politics. Otherwise explain Gallegos winning in Arizona. I still voted begrudgingly for Trump doesn't cost and that's my biggest issue and Kamala had a good talking game about it but I don't see anywhere in the country that's run by Democrats that has reasonable housing costs. I am from Massachusetts or the average house now cost about 700 grand if you can even find one And yes you can say Massachusetts has a good economy but it's nowhere near good enough of a wage premium to afford a house The only reason why all these workers still do those jobs is because they bought homes at much lower prices and locked in 30-year rate at about 3%. I'm 32 I didn't get a chance to buy a house so I moved from Massachusetts and went back to work on my friend's farm in northern New York or the average cost of a house is 100 grand and that's about what I make. I think at this point it's financial malpractice to live in a blue state with ridiculously high cost of living The wage premium is just not enough because you pay too much tax and you pay too much for everything else. Probably about the best place in the country for normal people to live is in North Dakota or the average truck driver can make a hundred grand a year in the average nurse can make hundred grand a year and in a little over a year they could pay off their house. This is why you see millions of people leaving Blue cities and blue states especially native born Americans. The only reason why it's not much worse is because you do have a lot of high skilled immigrants from places like India that can still make $400,000 or more being a doctor in the Boston area and that's still well worth it. I just don't see any evidence that Democrats will do what needs to be done by taking control at the state level and getting rid of a lot of these land use regulations and not allowing local homeowners to veto everything.

Harsh but basically true. I’d add - empty suit burdened by Biden and woke baggage.

Please define woke-an expression tossed around as an insult but rarely backed up with examples as to why its a bad thing,if thats what you believe it is.
@Rustyshackelford1772 ай бұрын
@ woke is the idea that certain groups are fundamentally victimized because of their immutable characteristics and are therefore not responsible for the consequences of their decisions and deserving of special treatment. It is also the belief that white males are the perpetrators of such perceived injustices and collectively bear the guilt associated with such past victimization. It is also the belief that certain groups are not entitled to express certain opinions on certain topics because of their immutable characteristics. Wokeness is performative virtue signaling. Some obvious examples of wokeness are minority only groups on college campuses, safe spaces, and pronouns in email signature blocks. Biden’s selection of Harris because of her race and gender rather than her qualifications is a prime example of wokeness. Of course, if he selected her because of other reasons- then the selection would not be because of wokeness. Given his statements and her obvious flaws - combined with her unfair attacks against him during the 2020 primary debate - it’s highly likely that he selected her for woke reasons - but who knows.

Workers: we need increased wages, housing & affordable healthcare? DNC: all we can offer is identity politics, vibes & Cheney instead of what you actually want or need. Trump wins....... Liberals: WHAT HAPPENED?!?! (While knowing full well who they intended to blame regardless of the facts!)
@traviscutler99122 ай бұрын
DNC Answer: throw trans people under the bus or immigrants, completely ignoring the literal 100's of thousands of non-commited voters, Muslims or young people who were beaten up by DNC mayor's police departments and universities to deny them their first amendment rights for protesting the USA's slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent children in Palestine. The DNC pro genocide policy that completely undermines American interests in the middle East without a single benefit unless you think propping up a Netanyahu government that clearly wanted Republicans?!?! Let alone the fact that they're genocidal lunatics, it just didn't make any electoral sense, unless winning was not as important as maintaining the security establishments strangle hold on both parties!?!? The system works........
