Scout shut down for about a week we're she would not go on walks and would go off by herself in the house. She is back to her normal self. I am sure having Sam in the house helped her somewhat. We did not plan on fostering, but Sam needed somewhere to get out of a bad spot.

Like you, we fostered another dog and she responded well and came out to be with him. I don't believe she ever forgot Jack but another pal in need helped her. We won't forget Magnus, sweet boy ♥

We were okay with using Magnus's rain coat, as we did not use it that often. We were not going to use his everyday blue coat or martingale collar. Those are too Magnus. It was strange to use Magnus's food bowl too. Sam is a good dog. Felt bad for him. So wanted to help him out. Besides, we had all the beds and were used to having 2 dogs in the house.

My husband and I adopted three greyhounds between 1989 and 2000, the last crossing the Rainbow Bridge in 2010. They make such wonderful pets - very entertaining! Sam looks like he would make a greyt "first" greyhound for some loving family. P.S. I think Magnus has whispered in Sam's ear that he was going to a greyt home!

A week or two after our old lurcher Sid passed away, a friend of my missus who spends a lot of time at the dogs' home sent us a picture of a greyhound who had landed there the day after Sid died. At first, Linz was feeling guilty at the thought of taking on another dog so soon after Sid had passed, as if one could ever "replace" a beloved member of the family. It was meant to be though, as if Sid had sent him in our direction! It's not cheapening the memory of a lost friend, just sharing the love. Sam's a lovely looking fellow, I hope he finds his forever sofa, although I strongly suspect he already has. "We'll see" indeed... ;)

Interesting!! Fostering is great. We just got down with 5 weeks of fostering a similar brindle male but he was much younger....not quite 2 yrs old yet so he had a lot of puppyish behavior still. He was a little challenging but eventually settled down for the most part. Just into everything and had some marking in the house issues at first so had to wear a belly band/male diaper for the first few weeks. Has now found his forever home and been adopted.

Greyhounds are impossibly cute! I missed my chance to get one after dog racing was banned near me. I wish greyhounds were more popular in my area!
