Trivia: the British Crown took Gibraltar when half of it's naval forces were on holiday and working as mercenaries for the HRE, and it was the head of the mercenaries (a member of the top brass when at work) who took the place in the name of, iirc, the Queen. actually switzerland has a great army tradition. They are probably better armed than most european countries and historically there was a period of about 50-80 years where they had the greatest army of the world. The habsburg Empire feared them and lost 2 big battles despite significant numbers advantage.

It's just hilarious to read all the comments arguing about which countries had won more wars or had the best technical devices for warfare! Who cares about who won more wars in history? It would be much more important to talk about all the horror which war means for innocent people and how to find ways to stop provoking wars! Unfortunately, as long as there are such brainless heads of states such as Trump, Putin, Kim Jon Un, etc., and since a few days the agressive Boris Johnson, there won't be much of a chance to avoid future wars.
