You two are the classiest sailing couple on KZbin, period. Like two good looking movie stars who look good on camera no matter what time of day or night. And always well dressed, a beautifully maintained boat, sensible sailing technique & planning, no bad language, no false bravado, no flashing of flesh just to get cheap views, beautifully filmed and edited, always respectful and considerate towards the locals wherever you go, careful and relatively unobtrusive advertising placements, and never doing any stupid macho stunts that might look good on camera but which could easily put you in hospital in the process. Yeah, I think that about describes it - “Gone With The Wynns - Sailing done with Class.” 🥂 Congrats for building such a great brand & channel, and after 15 years together, here’s to many more happy decades to come, cheers ! ⛵️👍🏻☺️

I love the faDior has such a great sense of humor, you were lucky to meet such an awesome family back on Nomuka and have her on your boat. Even if it was for just a night and yup, Tofua was where the Mutiny on the Bounty began. Of course eventually the mutineers made it to Tahiti and then Pitcairn. Such an interesting topic, it's no wonder they did so many movies about it. And if you ever make it to Pitcairn, they still have pieces of the Bounty! Pitcairn is high on my bucket list because of how unique of a place it is, history wise and biodiversity wise. Also I can't help but continue to appreciate the updated measurements you keep using as you navigate, it's a cool little detail and I admire it

Hey Guys, had my 43 foot cutter rig in the marquesas many years ago and got into some very bad weather. 138 mile an hour wind and if it wasn't such a well-built boat we probably wouldn't be alive today. We were in open water and it put the stick in the water twice. If I were to ever go sailing again I will never do it in a monohull boat. If I were to buy a boat again it would be a catamaran or my first choice a trimaran. I just don't like standing sideways. When we decided to sail around the world we both learned how scuba dive. There are no boat shops when you are in the middle of the ocean. If something goes wrong and you are required to go underwater for any length of time you just need to know how to dive. Our instructor made a statement just after our instructor started the class. He said "You must remember at all times, when you go over the side of the boat you become part of the food chain." It was a very sobering thought. At 75 I doubt if I will ever buy another boat. I guess I will just have to be content to watch people like you and get my boat fix. Happy sailing guys.

In a hot New Jersey afternoon I started to wonder what it was really like to cross the Pacific to Tahiti, say, a dream I had when I sailed off-shore in Southern California many years ago. As I looked for videos about such a passage, it occurred to me that of course, you two had necessarily done it, before I started following you every Sunday morning, and sure enough when I checked your videos, I could spot check your passage through all 25 days to French Polynesia, which was close enough. And not in a million dollar yacht that was fully mechanized and professionally maintained, but in your boat. Having done that, though, it occurred to me that in this time of Covid recovery, a book about your travels might be a welcomed escape from the lock-downs we’ve all experienced, most of us not in nearly as magical locations as Tonga. Swiss Family Robinson, Two Years before the Mast, and Master and Commander, all gave dreams life to their readers though most knew they would never themselves follow that path. You have, and a timely book, volume one ending in New Zealand, might sell well and be another source of income especially when tied to your ongoing voyages on KZbin. A little nautical information (“Seaspeak”, so to speak), some social engineering (your work with water supplies and local farming), and some plain adventure, might attract a new audience to a couple of Texans travelling the world. I just heard Jason say that he wished he were better with words, and could just spit out pithy descriptions like actors (who never write their own lines); few can, but with some editing and rewriting, his thoughts would be honest, eloquent, and well expressed. Nikki’s enthusiasm and humor would carry through the book, bolstering Jason’s concerns and boredom, and her discipline would drive the writing process. And I wouldn’t neglect Nikki’s medical issues; her push through those to present your KZbin programming is, I suspect, a leit motif of its own. Just a thought. You both have a lot to offer the rest of us. Thanks, and good luck. And lots of pictures!

What do you guys think about using and ADF (Automatic Direction Finder) on a boat? Used Aircraft ADFs are very cheap, use little power, and the antenna can easily be mounted on a mast. It is a navigation aid that has a display that points to an AM Radio transmitter or Aviation NDB (non-directional beacon) that it is tuned to. The ADF is tuned to the radio station of interest, there is an audio output to hear the station, and the pointer will show the relative bearing of the transmitter. It seems to me that it might be useful, especially for island hopping.
