Hi Jamie, I have a suggestion. Let Landon choose his own bed, bedding, curtains.... I feel that would make him happy,and allow him to have some control. Let him go shopping with you! Also, I wouldn't waste money on a shoe rack for his closet. He is a guy,lol and doesn't need one. I also wouldn't paint the boys night stand., it's not necessary, Also, a nice room divider would be great for the loft. Just to use for when the little ones are playing,and Landon hangs with his friends. I love the house you went with. Love to you all. Suzanne

In my experience, teenage boys aren’t into decor. As long as it’s nothing girly or too young for them, all they care about is having their stuff in their room. Movies, sports and music usually fills their walls. I almost laugh thinking about the look my sons and grandsons would give if asked about curtains. I think they would be insulted.

My number 1 suggestion for Landon’s closet is to get him the thin velvet type hangers. So much thinner and I bet you’ll fit a lot more clothes in with room

It looks like a great home for your family, congratulations! I have 7 kids too, and we don't live in a big house. We've had to get creative and use vertical space too. At one point, I had all 4 of my girls in the same room in 2 sets of bunkbeds. It really wasn't that bad - they loved it, and thought it was a slumber party every night. Also, we have a huge closet in the master bedroom. We don't have as much space anywhere else, so we have always kept a lot of the kids' clothes in our closet. It works great! My husband and I don't have many clothes either, so it's nice to have the extra space for kid clothes.

2nd comment, if you do get bunk beds, you could put two sets of bedding on the bed, as long as you have waterproof sheets, none rustling ones so noise doesn’t bother them. That way if they have any accident, you just strip off the top set, throw it in the washer and child gets back into bed. Just a thought x

Great choice Jamie. Trundle beds are a good idea. I hate bunk beds,but sometimes you have no other choice. The sell over the door storage in closet. For shoes,ect. Idea = Turn your garage into an "outdoor" play area. Mini-trampoline, mini-indoor basketball hoop, jump ropes....anything active to get the wiggles out. Even a disco ball for a crazy dance-off?

That's a great idea except it gets really hot in garages in southern Utah. We even had the window mount AC units in ours to help when we did anything in the garage but it hardly cut through the heat, unless you were standing right in front of it.

Love your condo! I was hoping that you would choose this one! Someone suggested a loft bed for Landon. That sounds like a great idea! Just like in dorms! He could put a desk underneath it. Maybe put 2 bars in his closet for clothes and raise the shelf. I think a loft bed and 2 twins might work in the girls room. They would have some play space under the bed. Good luck with the move! For the girls maybe daybeds with trundles, another thought, as you are thinking you may move again in a year, have you thought of folding guest beds so that you can fold them during the day to give them some more play space. As they are so little they will still be very comfortable. It’s a lovely house and with playgrounds nearby they can still get plenty of outdoor time. They also have outdoor space at Skyler’s. You’re doing a great job, Jamie! It’s looking lovely! ❤

My grandaughter has a twin bunkwith trundle from Ashley furniture,it has ladder up to top bunk,with rail,and trundle underneath .At end of bunk is 4 small drawers.She has very small room,but wanted to be able to have 2 friends over.

I love the new space! Some suggestions are to maybe put your nightstands in your closet for now. Over the door organizer may be helpful for the kids rooms. Also for Landons closet slimmer hangers instead of the wooden ones would allow him to hang more in there.

Shayden and Landon’s extra clothes could go on a hanging rack in the storage room that you put the extra love sac lounge seats. Also your nightstands! That way you’ve got them if the next place is (I don’t want to say bigger I want to say shaped differently haha because each area would be different sizes but not necessarily the whole place if that makes sense)

The loft is much bigger than I thought. I liked the other town house for its backyard but I can see how the huge loft space and the other features of this one works better for your family. It is fun to place the furniture and decorate a bit!

I was thinking the same thing about having a loft bed for Landon. Many have desks attached. The little girl’s room with the 3 bunks would give them extra room. Or bunks that have a twin on top and a full on the bottom would give the one who likes her own space a place and the other two could share or they could switch every month. You’ll figure it out. I didn’t know about Facebook sales. Good place to find lots of things. Best of luck us you downsize and continue to think about what you want for the next year. Do you have to change churches? It seems when you moved last time you were assigned a different place. I’m sure you will rebuild your community and have just as much help when you move again. I’m sure everyone is anxious to get into their new space. Best of luck.

Velvet hangers for Landon. They take up less space than those wooden ones. My twins needed to come out of their beds at 18 months. I used a captains height bed with the lower bed coming out of the bottom. I searched high and low for the lower top bunk. Then later on we separated it and we're able to fit a dresser underneath it.

When it comes to perfect organizing little spaces IKEA has great things to offer for cheap prices. You will find solutions for storage under the bed as well as boxes etc. for inside the closets. I have seen that the next IKEA seems to be in Salt Lake City but perhaps you could use the online shop? At least I assume that IKEA USA has on online shop. Here in Germany they sell everything they have in the stores online as well but you will have to pay for shipping... I am curious about what the Quints will say to the new home. Happy set up! 🙂

Love your new place! I have see through shoe bags on the backs of my bedroom, pantry, bathroom and closet doors, great for storing spices, gloves, hats, markers, computer accessories. I also have a tie rack on the back of one closet doors for hanging necklaces.

Jamie, the cupboard when you first come in that you’re using for storage, why don’t you put some coat hooks, shelving or shelving and baskets for the coats, backpacks, hats, gloves, scarves etc. They would all be hidden. You could also get shoe rack in there too. It seems such a great space. Hope you all enjoy this new space for as long as you need to x

I think for the girls room daybeds with trundles. I love the big loft and I think the kids will enjoy that. I wouldn't worry about a back yard, because there are so many parks to visit. I think you're doing a great job as a mother and head of the household. God Bless You and your family ❤🙏

Re girl's room beds. When I was a kid I had a bunk bed that could be changed to two twins, OR to a trundle set up. Most trundle beds I've seen are standard height twins with the trundle that slide under, very close to the floor. My set up was--the top bed was 3-3.5 ft off the floor, and the trundle was a little lower than a standard twin, but not like it was only skimming couple inches above the floor. The good part is that the top bed would be very easy to change the sheets because it's below chest high on an adult. Safer because you don't have the height of a bunk bed. The fun part: if you get two sets, the trundle from the second set can be stored, the kiddo sleeps on the high bed, and the space under the high bed can be a cozy "fort" just by hanging a blanket over the side. This was my favorite set up and I loved that I had a high bed.

I had 5 kids then later adopted 2 of my grandsons but when the five were smaller I bought a bunk bed that was full size on bottom and twin on top. I had three boys , one a little older and twins, at the time we had little space and Ii was ideal. As far as changing sheets etc I just left bunk away from wall it was more accessible. Hope this helps. 😊

I would get bunk beds for girls AND boys so they will have another space to play ~ gives them room to spread out! As far as bedding ~ I would go Beddyz all the way! I would also get some blow up mattresses or cots to use when the littles are sick!

We have limited space and my daughter loves her loft bed. It has a pull out desk and a dresser that also fits underneath it, plus a hideout spot under the bed to read.

What if you did one trundle day bed, and then another loft bed? Then you have the storage/space underneath, but the 3 beds without having to do the triple bunk. Otherwise bunk with slide out trundle underneath would be the biggest space saver probably.

Question…..have you looked at Beddy’s Bedding? Seems like a must have for bunk beds and/or multiple young children. This would fit your need so perfectly. They are also KZbinrs in Utah. You should reach out for a sponsorship. They seem like an incredible family and they have twins and that is how Beddy’s Bedding came to be.
