I grew up in a family of 5 in a 980 square foot house. We never thought we were crowded. My sister, now, lives in a 648 square foot 2 bedroom house with her husband. Her house has no basement or attic and they have no problem with space. I think the more space you have, the more things you have. You have decorated your house beautiful.

We live in a small ranch style house built in 1958. It is 925 sq ft. We have made it work and raised our kids here. It is economical and now that we are in our 60’s the bigger house we use to long for doesn’t seem important anymore. Thankful for our little house.

I very rarely comment on KZbin, but I had to say that your home is gorgeous, so well organized, beautifully decorated, and you can feel the love in your home. I'm American, but I have been living in Europe for 14 years and 900 sqft is the average size home in Spain. I know as Americans, we think that 900sqft is small, but it isn't in most other parts of the World. There's a simplicity that comes when you don't have a massive house to take care of and the bills that come along with it. We're a family of 4 in 800sqft and we don't plan on 'upgrading' anytime soon.

Right!? My first thought as I started watching this video was, "What? Wait a minute. This isn't a "Tiny House". LOL! This is totally just an average size home. So, it looks like they are living below their means or have downsized (I don't know what their circumstances were before), but this is totally not in the category of a "Tiny House". *giggle*

Heads up friend... Bigger is not always better! In your homeschool update, Erin, you mentioned that one of the things that really helps you is ALWAYS cleaning your house before you go to bed. This is an attainable goal for you, I think, partially because you have a smaller space to deal with. We went from a 815-ish sq ft duplex (4 kids and pregnant) to a 2,020 SQ ft house (5 kids) and it is unbelievably difficult to keep clean because there is a lot of space for the children to drag their toys and carry food, even if they are not supposed to. Just wanted to throw this out there. Smaller spaces are better, in my opinion, because although it looks like a hurricane came through faster, it is also much, much faster to clean up. Thank you for the tour of your lovely home!

Imagine, you and Chad have already given your children PHD's in life. Consider keeping this home and cherishing a life most people can only esteem to have. Your children will be grown before you know and you and Chad will then need to downsize a house you probably didn't need to have in the first place. People think they have to have a huge house if they have a few children but when those children leave home, they feel the need to downsize, so they are constantly moving. If you just stay where you are and adjust, you will save a fortune and your sanity. I love the way you have utilized storage areas. I can take a lesson regarding that. @@Anonymous09981 Yes, we are a family of 5 (3 kids 6 years, 2, years and 1) and are moving into a 2300 sqft house from the current 1300 sqft. We have no storage space, not a single person sleeps well and my kids are constantly cranky because of it, and we homeschool, so we are always home, all the time. The glamorizing of tiny homes for many people, is very annoying to me, because I kept thinking I was just being ungrateful based on airbrushed, edited videos of strangers. No, our house is too small for our family and we are open to new life always. I can't even stick bunkbeds in the rooms we have right now, I don;t know where we would put another child. I am not okay with limiting our family size because of our house, so joyfully moving in 2 weeks! I don't want the norm to be "just make it work." We are very minimalistic, and we still don't fit, so it isn't an issue of our stuff clogging our space. It isn't my job to make my family fit in a house, the house should fit us. So, enjoy your larger home and enjoy your precious babies :-)

I'm doing multi-gen in a two bedroom condo while taking care of my folks (80's) and my little boy. Every day feels like I've won the lottery! It's the best time in my life so far. There is so much love and we almost never think about the space we don't have. We just enjoy the space we do have and the people in it.

Your house is adorable. I love smaller houses with character! One question - if you are renting, does the owner pay for the updates (materials?) you are making to the house?

When you have less you do more..I love the simplified living!!!! It's the system they've implemented that makes it work! There are people with millions of square footage and it's nowhere near a home that demonstrates love, nurturing, family values. KUDOS to you all!

Ask and it is given!!!! I just asked God for some inspiration for a small home for my family and this just popped up without me even searching for it. Thanks Erin & Chad. Your space is beautiful. God bless your family.

We had 7 in 1100 for some time and I found it more peaceful than now where we have way more space. Tiny homes are becoming the thing for a reason

I would love more videos on - routines & chores - what do the kids do/you do daily for meal cleanup /weekly etc - school routine- where is everyone at different times, ex getting ready, breakfast, clean up, school time, read aloud time, like how y’all move through the day. I love the small house & would like to see how it functions - minimalism- you keep shoes & clothes to a minimum, obviously, so how do you think about that, maintain that with a growing family - organization- how are your drawers & closets organized- you have a small space so I’d love to peek inside & see how you make it all fit! Also, paperwork, computers, etc how do you organize all that Thank you for considering! I have taken your home as inspiration for our next home- we’re about to move. I love the colors & simplicity & beauty & love.

Precious, very precious! I enjoyed seeing your home and hearing you express your faith in God. This is a great encouragement for me. I am renting a 506 square feet house and believing God for my own home. Thank you!

I am blown away by how beautiful and orderly your small home is I have a home twice your size and I cannot keep it together. I also had a smaller home a little bigger than yours with less people and I couldn’t keep it together. This is such an inspiration!! Thank you for sharing and inviting us to see your beautiful home!

I've just finished reading several of the posts and I wholeheartedly agree with them! My vote is that you're able to stay in your amazing/lovely/beautiful home with your sweet family. I actually saw a similar situation of a family on you tube. They purchased a tiny home and made it an extension to their home, and it looked fantastic. The kids loved it too - the two oldest ones had their 2 bedrooms located in the tiny home, and all the kids used the upstairs loft for game time, etc. It was somewhat less money than actually going through a brick and mortar build on addition. You guys are so innovative that you could really have fun with creating something really cool with this property!!

God bless your family! I needed this lol! I am renting a tiny home as well, it's probably 900 sq. ft. as well. The struggle is real! I have three kids and one on the way. Thank goodness to whoever created portable cribs because a baby doesn't really need a full size crib in the beginning and I think the smaller cribs are so cute anyway! We make use of the beds too! I have basically same set up....bunk bed in kids room for my two older girls and a toddler bed on the other side. One whole wall is a closet so they get to share that and we have "suctioned" many things into those Ziploc vacuum bags to give extra space. We just got a table last month a nook style and the handy thing about that is the bench seats lift up for storage space! I live on the West coast and houses are soooo high right now! My motto lately has been less is More lol!! It works and once Christmas is over and tree is out we will rearrange living room....again lol! It's like a giant puzzle sometimes and it sure is fulfilling my nesting needs lol!! Have a Merry Holiday!!!

My goodness the love far exudes the square footage, and that is fine. Everyone looks so happy and content, and you guys are great stewards of what God had given you in this season. 🥰

Glad this video was suggested on my page! You have a beautiful home and family ✨ I love how neat, tidy and organize your house is this is truly an inspiration. We are also currently renting but in a 2 bedroom apartment in Sydney. We are definitely planning to get our own but I’m also pregnant with my 2nd child and working full time working from home so is it stressful to find the perfect home at this stage. Thank you for putting up this video. God bless your family. 🤍

This makes me think of the country song years ago "Love grows best in little houses with fewer walls to separate. You sleep so close together you can't help but communicate oh and if we had more walls between us, think of all we'd miss, love grows best in houses just like this" God bless!!
