During WW2 in North Africa, because of the big difference between night and day temperatures, the camo paint was flaking off the British tank hulls. The relevant units were trying to find a paint that was not affected this way. By trial and error they found that a mixture of camel dung and Worcestershire sauce was the right colour and it didn't flake off the tank hulls. The commander of the unit that came up with this idea was Major Jasper Maskelyne, a famous stage illusionist from a long family line of magicians from London. Cheers!
