An Improved Classic? - Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO X Limited Edition

It seems as if this is the year that big headphone companies reiterate their classic products with notable improvements. Beyerdynamic is following suit by returning to the DT770 Pro for their centennial celebration. The new DT770 Pro X Limited Edition has some upgrades, but a lot of people wonder if these are enough to justify the revision of a classic. Let's find out if the DT770 Pro X LE is worth the price increase or if you should stick with the regular DT770 Pro.

actually the headband on DT770 OG is way more plush then on PRO X but they are interchangeable so not a problem and even less plush still very nice headband

I have regular 80 Ohm and this Pro X. Pro X sounds definitely cleaner, especially when you equalize it for a more balanced sound, and doesn't have the ugly 2,5-3 Khz peak and 3,8-4 Khz dip, that the regular have.

apparently Not all DT770 Pro 80 ohm have this peak i guess it depends on the batch cause i have two one Dosn't have it but the other does

i hope the release the regular DT770 line with detachable cable i have DT770 Pro 80ohm it's my favorite headphones for gaming and most comfortable with Dekoni ear pads i just got this Pro X and while i like them my 80 ohm are just a little more fun to listen to music but for gaming bith are practically perfect and even thought i have 80 ohm with detachable cable 4 pin mini xlr i still wish Beyer to release them 3 pin mini xlr or 4 pin Dosn't matter i hope they make DT990 Pro X too

can u explain why the DT 770 are more fun ? I hesitate between the 770 pro model and the X version, mainly for the detachable cable and to have the 48 ohms version, but the sound of the original 770 is better? because i wanted the 80 ohms 770 but i’m afraid that my laptop, my controller or my laptop are not enough to enjoy compared to the pro X has 48 ohms
