I had to watch four different videos on this. You were the first one to mention you need to jump with the scooter. Once I knew that I managed to do the glitch in less than two minutes. Thanks a lot.

You actually don't need to jump with the scooter. I recently was trying to 100% the game and needed to cheat the jump rope challenge. The video I found did not show jumping with the scooter but it worked for me. Granted, it's probably easier to jump with it. I didn't even think to jump with it because, as you stated, this is like the only video showing jumping with the scooter.

A strange thing I found when trying to get the "M" out, is that you can get both it and the "O" to move forwards into the invisible wall without moving the joystick! It's a strange yet interesting glitch.

I did it! I practiced the glitch, and it was a success! I put the letter A above the jumping rope, then I got a moon after jumping 100 times.

WORD OF CAUTION - when you get the M out - for example - and a flippin taxi happens to stop right in front of you...don't try and go around it via the side walk because i managed to shunt myself BACK INTO the boundary TWICE before i got wise

Hey Fir! I started watching your modded speedruns and they inspired me to finally 100% smo. I was having the worst time with jump rope challenge but this really helped. Sure, some might think glitches are cheating, but I don't really care. Anything to complete it :D It took me a ton of attempts but I got there eventually, clipping the A free after using all the other letters to prevent the M pushing to the side accidentally

Personally I've never made it past 80 in the jump rope, I really don't have the rhythm for it. But this glitch takes about as much work as other normal moons, so it still feels satisfying to get it in a 100%. Same with the Class S bound ball moon. I for the life of me can't get it legitimately, but with the shortcuts I can just barely beat the ridiculous requirement ofan average of 37 seconds per lap. And also the same with the bullet bill one on dark side. Jumping back up and going iver the top instead of chaining longjumps is a bit cheesy, but still very satisfying to get. But those are the only ones I can think of that I generally cheese every playthrough.

Interesting softlock I found: Move the letter to the top of the manhole that you use to get to the power plant. Capture the manhole and move it away, then capture the letter. It should fall into the hole. Uncapture it as soon as the letter falls down, and you should stand on nothing. (You can't capture the letter for some reason, and you can't ground pound either.)

As of 15th October 2023, I can confirm that this still works, I was able to glitch M out and complete that dreaded rope genius challenge. For those who are not able to do it, you have move the letter closer by pressing Y (dashing), without it I was also not able to do it but with dash it worked

As of November 21st, 2021, 12:11am, this glitch still works, though it does take a small amount more effort than it used to as the M must have the scooter as far left as absolutely possible while clipping the A. It pulls too far otherwise

Can confirm, as of May 21st, 2024 the glitch still works! I couldn’t figure out the scooter method so I used the method at 2:10 and it worked like a charm. Just gotta be persistent! Also, DO NOT cross back into the original block area or else you’ll get trapped again.

I can confirm it still works as of March 17 2024. I don't know if it if it was a skill issue of my part or they changed it but I had to outline the other letters to the left of the A and M scooter setup to get it out because the M keep shifting to the left. But I can confirm it still works

i cant believe he forgot about the suckage glitch which is where if you get a letter right next to new donk city hall (assist mode needs to be on for this) leave the letter go in the hall and go out but capture the letter before landing and finally jump off the cliff with the letter so you dont touch the ground then you will be in the city hall but you will be stuck to the right wall and if you manage to go through the wall it will teleport you seemingly randomly

took me an ungodly amount of time to manage this (not as long as it would have taken to do the challenge!) - but glitch still works as of 22/8/22 for getting the A out, it helped me to first wedge the A and M in with the R and I. (sidenote- i managed this a couple of times. the first time i forgot i was supposed to get out of the M before the A and ruined it. the second time i got to the jump rope challenge, didn’t land on top when i de-captured, and accidentally went back into the letter zone. doi. don’t make my mistakes!!)

Love the video Fir! One thing I'd like to add tho. I've found that occasionally, when you clip the letters out of bounds and your first action is to run, you will get this hyperspeed (the same as from the taxi). So if you're attempting to clip it out, be careful not to do this, although it is possible to regain control sometimes.
