I am very thankful for this video. I think Tifa is a much, much more complex character than for which she is given credit. The fact that she knows what really happened in Nibelheim, but knowingly goes along with Cloud’s neurosis because she knows he is fragile psychologically, emphasizes her caretaker role. I hope you do more videos like this; I enjoy this far more than the various mods, personally. I watch all of these review videos multiple times. I have loved the in-depth videos for a long time, it's what brought me to your channel!

Also, Tifa's "God's Hand" is one of the few weapons that has 255% accuracy, meaning that if it's equipped, Deathblow will almost always hit, giving Tifa a great option for dealing guaranteed critical hits without having to worry about status ailments.

The first time I saw Tifa I really didn't like her. I immediately saw her as the typical scantily clad, Japanese female character from every rpg and anime. I barely used her throughout the entire first half of the game. However, as the story progressed I found myself liking her more and more. She genuinely seemed to care about everyone despite being a huge introvert. The scene at the northern crater with Cloud is one of my favourite scenes in any game ever. There's none of the soppy teenage romance that we saw in later games in the series, instead it's just two people faced with probable death who finally struggle to tell each other their feelings. Love stories like this resonate a lot more with me because they feel more grounded in reality. By the end of the game Tifa had become my favourite ff7 character and one of my favourite characters of all time. Stellar video, but... did you really have to acknowledge that WoFF exists death?

I feel like, ever since FF7, I keep playing other entries in the series, searching for Tifa. I do believe that she, singlehandedly, is the reason why I got into JRPGs at all. Of course, the first time I played FF7 I was very young and didn't really understand what was going on, but you do feel the story all the same. She is such a complex character, something so unprecedented to me at the time, that my interest for her and her story cemented my love for this game. Now, with the remake, is like living that complexity with some additional strength. I had a knot in my throat the whole playthrough, because it is something oddly beautiful and emotional seeing all the scenes you pictured in your head unfold with acting and voice performance. Truly something else. I would like to thank you for this content, man. This video made me feel some nice things :)

I always believed that since WEAPONs were created by the planet to protect it, that the only reason Sapphire attacked Junon was specifically to free Tifa and the others. Aerith was part of the planet at that point, so perhaps she was able to influence it just that little bit to help them out since they're the planets only hope.

You forgot in design Nomura originally had 2 designs for Tifa one with a pair of pants and one which she became with a skirt, he left it up to the Square team for which they preferred.

It's even more amazing when we realize that Tifa was actually a later addition to the cast. When FFVII was first revealed, promo art didn't even have her included (only Cloud, Aerith, and Barret). The decision to create Tifa was made only when it was decided that Aerith would be killed off. Talk about striking gold during later-stage development; now she's arguably more popular than pretty much everyone else in the cast!

Death, these videos are nothing short of fantastic. As my favourite game, there's nothing better than watching in-depth analytical material on specific aspects of the game -- crazy that we are still learning new things 21 years after release! Have you ever thought of doing a mechanics video? One that takes you through, step-by-step, the stats, how damage is calculated, how steals are made, various magic and ability mechanics, etc.. It's a video idea I've had in the back of my head for some years now. I must have read all three of TFergusson's FFVII GameFAQs mechanics guides -- Battle Mechanics, Party Mechanics, and Enemy Mechanics -- a good half a dozen each now, especially the stat heavy ones, as I'm a nerd for RPG statistics. Who knows, may get around to it one day. Would love to do one for each of the Final Fantasys actually, as some of them have very interesting ways of calculating damage, and calculating how stealing items is made possible. Not sure if i was always overinterpreting things, but to me the aspect at 3:06 of her opposing traits was also hinted at due to the, by its full name, "piano-forte" being her corresponding instrument(corresping like in "peter and the wolf"). Of course not in the original soundtrack, as those were all midi sounds, but she was a piano player and got her final limit break from her piano, and in AC both her character theme as well as her combat theme when fighting loz are from the piano collection. Which i think suits nicely, as the piano-forte describes her personality as being capable of both quiet, tender moments and loud and aggressive action.

Love the passion you have for this game! Trumps even my own love for it along with many many others. One thing I do seem to be on my own with tho when it comes to the “original” story ( because the original story has been adapted an expanded more than once ) is the cloud you play in the game isn’t the cloud that tifa knew from childhood.. the original cloud dies while fighting sephiroth. He is a clone and no one likes the fact of it even though if you really listen to the game it tells you. No one from shinra would arrive at nibleheim to save clouds life for well... at least until reports got back of what happened and another squad dispatched to find out, if you can even remember having to travel in a convoy with sephiroth to get to nibelhiem then you can probably guess help ain’t coming quick enough. Unless of course you believe he survived for a few days after having his chest rammed through ( which by the way kills aerith almost instantly when the same thing happens to her ) and then also believe that 5 years disappear like nothing in the events that unfold in the “last order” anime. The fact he is a clone doesn’t go down well an I think square decided to squash that idea when people loved the fairytail ending. Personally i think it improves the storyline filling in a lot of plot holes an janky storytelling but I can’t be the only person that has played this game that can appreciate and accept it can I?

Tifa is easily my favourite character of Final Fantasy, always has been. I didn't get her as much as I was younger but when I grew older, understood the story more, understood relationships more, I grew to relate to her. She is one of the most underrated characters around.

I've always like Tifa more as a character in FF7 but I'm replaying FF7 again and I'm noticing how deep and complex her character is for the first time, (it's been about 15 years since I played FF7) and honestly, Tifa alone is making FF7 my favorite FF game and Tifa is actually becoming one of my favorite characters and especially after watching this video.
