This is the reaction I’ve been waiting to watch. I really need a reaction/review from real Wicked fans, not from those who jump for clout (really soulless)

Moments onstage can be re-interpreted differently in a screenplay. Hopefully the film will be great.

Regarding words like "ceremoniously", it's part of the word blends used by native Ozians. The only people who DON'T use word blends are The Wizard (not originally native to OZ himself, as we already know he's from our world/the outside world beyond OZ), Elphaba (she's actually the daughter of both Marlena -- former Munchkinland governor/roving preacher Frex's promiscuous wife -- and The Wizard -- who basically commits statutory rape on Marlena after getting her drunk on some liquid inside a green vial before departing to become the figurehead of The Emerald City -- Incidentally, Elphaba held onto the bottle as a momento during the "Popular" scene between her & G[a]linda at Shiz University & in _The Wonderful Wizard of OZ_ book written by L. Frank Baum, rather than giving The Cowardly Lion a placebo medal as he did in the 1939 MGM film, L. Frank Baum's version of The Wizard told him to drink what was left of the liquid in the bottle, telling him that if the liquid were inside of him, then it would be "liquid courage", which effectively means The Wizard fed The Cowardly Lion booze), Fiyero (the crown prince of the Vinkus [Winkie is an enslavement term] stops using them after falling for Elphie) and later, Glinda (out of solidarity to both Elphaba & Fiyero, even though, by this point, she thinks that both of them are dead & in MacGuire's 1995 novel, they CANONICALLY are dead, whereas the Broadway musical had Elphie fake her death & turned Fiyero into the brainless Scarecrow -- which isn't true in the 1995 novel, as her believing Fiyero was changed into the straw man was merely part of her steadily increased delusional state of mind, which made her CANONICAL melting demise something of a Mercy Kill, even if it was an accident administered by a certain displaced farmgirl & her yapping terrier who just wanted to return home to Dust Bowl era Kansas -- purely to send the theatergoer audiences happy, albeit with a bittersweet ending, since the 1995 novel's end was a tragic one for all of our main characters, as Glinda is left to live life alone in a loveless marriage to a boring dullard, Fiyero is killed by the Ozian military that serves the current corrupt regime, Nessa is flattened by Dorothy's falling farmhouse carried to OZ by a cyclone -- the twister was summoned out of thin air to lure Elphie out of hiding by Madame Morrible, who has the innate ability to alter the weather & is the definitive villain of the story, as she uses The Wizard's charisma to force her oppressive agenda -- and water allergic Elphie is melted by a splash of water from a conveniently-placed water bucket). Everyone else uses the word blends. Not all animals can talk; There's a difference between Animals -- with a capital "A" (as in, those who can speak both their native animal [goat, lion, monkey, etc.] & human dialect) -- and animals -- with a lowercase "a" (those who are domesticated/subservient) -- but the regime (Madame Morrible & The Wizard) created an agenda that sees them transform Animals into animals, rendering them unable to communicate anymore with human Ozians or even outright killing them should they continue to fight back (in other words, what happened to the literary version of Dr. Dillamond, whereas the musical has the fired goat professor hidden under a sheet in The Wizard's throne room & rendered utterly mute, which subsequently reinforces Elphie's strong stance against the powers that be, since The Wizard almost nearly causes her to give up her crusade during their conversation during the song "Wonderful", as far as the musical is concerned).

I’ve only recently discovered your channel, but I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos as the film gets closer😁what I love about this trailer is that they are thinking about both Wicked and The Wizard of Oz. Releasing the trailer on L Frank Baum’s birthday is one thing. But what really stood out for me in the trailer is the shot of Elphaba’s hand on the page. That image is straight out of a photo of Margaret Hamilton and Judy Garland for the OG film. They are really thinking about movie and I’m here for it! I’m starting to theorize that in the 2nd film when we see more of Dorothy in Oz, they might incorporate some wizard of oz score into the film🤔great trailer analysis😁

They'll have to pay Warner Bros. Discovery for its use (there's reason why Dorothy wears the literary Silver Shoes rather than the iconic Ruby Slippers from the 1939 MGM film, although the version of the magicked footwear in the *WICKED* films seem to be the Silver Shoes with red RUBY gem accents, thereby paying proper homage to both the Silver Shoes & the Ruby Slippers).

I think by showing literally the 1st half of the movie in a nutshell Was to maybe prove a point to the average audience ( unknown to the musical) that there is some seriousness to it rather than all campiness that most people assume it could be. Just my opinion. 🤔 Thanks for sharing!🙂

My favorite moment of the trailer was seeing the Elephaba propaganda poster and burning effigy; I hope the two films keep the political aspects of the book/musical. My main issue is the lighting--all the outdoor scenes in the trailer are so evenly washed out/cloudy, no matter the time of day eg. Defying Gravity scene looks like dusk but they're lit the same as their fight practice or whether they're in Munchkinland or Shiz. Hopefully that's a trailer / they're still color-correcting post-production thing

I was once cast as Nessa and I'd love to expand on her story seeing as it isn't and possibly will not be expanded on. I want people to know more about this character within the OZ adaptation.

Hi! So, I have been a subscriber of yours (on a different account) for years. I watch a lot of movie related channels and yours is definitely in my top 5 favorites. Just wanted to say, you are a phenomenal movie and oz content reviewer. Thank you for your channel. Side note: I NEED OZ stationary like that!!! Also Wicked/Oz world at Universal please people! Fingers crossed! My favorite moment (besides every scene with Jeff Goldbloom) was probably the hug in the ballroom. So simple yet so powerful. Personally, I am hoping for (and kind of seeing happen in these clips and trailers ) a deeply strong bond forming for Elphaba and Madam Morrible (like the mother figure she never had encouraging her to grow and learn), The Wizard (a father who accepts and appreciates her talents) and Glinda (a true friend who is like a sister who cares and loves her and does not make her feel constantly guilty). Because THAT would make the upcoming betrayal so much more powerful and heartbreaking. I love all the passion everyone seems to have making this film. I think this will be incredible. Just hoping they don’t pull a BARBIE and show us way too much of the movie in clips and trailers.

Elphaba Thropp & G[a]linda Upland are not sisters (although she calls herself one in "Popular", both Elphaba & G[a]linda are CANONICALLY BISEXUAL [mutually for Vinkus/Winkie Prince Fiyero & EACH OTHER]).

I do think they showed too much. I think a lot of the musical issues are just trailer editing nonsense. When I first watched the Les Mis trailer I was so disappointed in Annes Dreamed A Dream. Then I saw the movie and it had other issues I won't get into here, but that song in particular was actually pretty good. Like a totally different cut of the song with different vocal performance choices. So I think we may be getting some of that here, as well.

Im not sure... it could be another Oz The Great and Powerful, ..Bad overall, some good parts, but overall boring & too long. And way too much CGI. *Unfortunately most movie musicals don't work out well.
