an influencer is trying to silence me...

yep... you read it right! for the first time ever, one of my videos was removed from the KZbin platform in a false copyright strike. (but it's back! you can watch it here: • designer brands are fo... ) false copyright strikes on KZbinr's channel are a big deal. get 3 in a row and your channel will quite literally be deleted from the platform, so to place a copyright strike on another creators video is very controversial. unfortunately, a luxury influencer did just this to me last month. a video (designer brands are for broke girls) that i had spent 2 weeks straight working on, was removed from KZbin by a fellow content creator Tamara Kalinic, and I was devastated. i work SO hard on my content. I dont have a researcher, script writer, video editor or thumbnail creator - i do every thing myself because i want to create the best content i can for my subscribers. so to have a video deleted from KZbin was so disheartening for me. I have noting against Tamara, I think her content is aspirational and her lifestyle is very enviable. she is a luxury influencer and incredibly good at her job (I was even getting influenced watching her!) but I do wish that she would have approached me prior to launching a strike on my channel, as it's incredibly unfair. we may have opposing views on luxury and designer items, but that's ok! she is entitled to her opinion as I am to mine.
i know luxury items and designer goods are paraded around as being almost a token of social status - but please, dont go into debt to look rich. you dont need to keep up with influencers, and even luxury influencing has its drawbacks. xx

100%. There was another KZbinr who made documentary style videos, and someone who was a minor subject in the documentary threatened him if he didnt take down the video. He didnt take it down, so the person filed 3 strikes on 3 videos and the entire channel, UNDER A FAKE NAME, without needing to provide ANY credentials. Literally, Any random person even with a fake name can tear apart someone’s career in a few clicks. Now, this creator went to counter the strike, but then he needed to provide all his personal info including address. They had been receiving physical threats from this person, and didnt want to give them their literal address, but KZbin forced him to, otherwise he would lose his account. I don’t remember how the matter was resolved, but it was resolved because a bunch of other creators and viewers called KZbin to help him. But this system is wild and it can be so easily dangerous for creators.

Social platforms are ridiculous. I’ve reported people who have told me to unalive myself and gotten a “no violations found”, but had a comment violation for telling someone I don’t agree with them. That’s it. No name calling or bullying, no misinformation - just “we can agree to disagree”. Those are definitely not real … they are very good fakes though…I did a deep dive and the things I bought (fully knowing they are probably not the real deal) look the same on the outside but can easily be spotted as a fake if you are an expert (I don’t care to be an expert). I happened to be somewhere where they were selling very good knock offs and the police raided the whole place. All items were seized - even the ones I purchased. It was quite the experience to witness. I was happy the police interviewed us and let us go. No country is selling real designer items cheap.

I have ZERO respect for people who misuse the copyright strike feature of KZbin. In my opinion, if you file a copyright claim and lose, YOU need to get one of those strikes on your account instead. That would deter people from using it as a “dislike” button and would make the accusation much more serious and they would only use it when it’s actually a copyright infringement. And the video in question shouldn’t get taken down until it’s proven to be copyright. Innocent until proven guilty should work here too. That’s so unfair that you did nothing wrong, she did, and yet you’re the only one suffering.

Aussie here, I listen to a lot of KZbin, I don’t actually watch most of it. So the most important thing to me is the sound quality, not so much the appearance. If it is within your business budget to afford a separate office space, I think go ahead and invest in it. But only do it if you can afford to, and it won’t put you under unnecessary pressure.
