Even if there IS a so-called “heartbeat” (which in the beginning is a misnomer, since it’s just a pulse in some cells that will eventually form the heart), if a woman has begun to miscarry, it is essential to remove the fetal tissue from the uterus to prevent illness or death to the mother. No question about it. And miscarriage is a very common event that women don’t talk about much with men. Ignorant legislators who think they know medicine made these ridiculously risky laws to serve a religious agenda. This is a travesty! Vote them all out.

I've had 2 miscarriages and I lost my little Amy when I was 6 months pregnant. It was the worst thing that has happened to me. I've been through an ugly divorce, lost my dad, lost 2 uncles and almost lost both my other kids due to medical issues and nothing compares to the pain of losing those pregnancies, especially at 6 months. To have doctors and lawyers add to that pain because of their hate and ignorance and desire to control is unimaginable

I must have missed the memo regarding why the removal of a non-living (no cardiac activity) baby/ fetus/embryo/zygote/blastula, etc. (choose one) is apparently considered an "abortion." Spontaneous loss of a pregnancy is commonly referred to as a "miscarriage." As in the pregnancy is OVER. It CANNOT be resuscitated. It's NOT anyone's fault. Any NONVIABLE products of conception retained in the reproductive tract can lead to severe maternal complications. The procedure to remove nonviable fetal tissue, when required, is NOT termination of a pregnancy. The pregnancy failed. By itself. Bad stuff happens from time to time. Move on to taking care of the mom in the most appropriate manner. That's all anyone can do. What part of this is not understandable?

I was Pro-life at one time but a good friend of mine changed my mind by saying this: women risk their lives bringing life in this world. They have to carry that baby and have that baby. So who are we to tell them whether or not to have a child. It's not up to us to tell a woman what to do with her body. When he told me that, and I thought about it, I started to become more Pro-Choice. I support women, and I don't think any woman should be forced to have a baby. I don't any woman should be denied access to life saving healthcare. If we all want to be totally honest, being Pro-Choice is being Pro-Life. So we should stop calling Pro-lifers, Pro-life when they're not.

We have a very religious relative who suffered through three miscarriages before she and her husband had their first child. Each miscarriage was rough; the last one was nearly fatal. She required an emergency D&C and blood transfusion as she was bleeding profusely - honestly like something out of a war movie - like gushing blood. She would have absolutely died from massive blood loss without the procedure. And this religious woman wanted children so very much!! This story just horrifies me given the reality of the danger of miscarriages.

12 weeks into my daughter's pregnancy her baby girl had no heartbeat. I thank God that here in Michigan she had options. The first was do nothing and risk a severe infection if a natural miscarriage did not occur soon, the second was the abortion pills which they said would be very painful to go through at home with a 2 year old. The third option was a D&C (medical abortion) performed in the hospital the next morning which is what they decided to do. They are heartbroken that they lost this baby as are we. I'm a Christian and can't believe those who claim to be can be so heartless and cruel to women in these red states. They would rather see these women die and leave their other children motherless, their husbands and partners overwhelmed with grief while needing to be both parents to any other children in the family. This is NOT "What would Jesus do?" These people are blinded by hate. So sorry for what the Hamilton's have been forced to go through because of Texas's asinine abortion laws.

My mom had miscarriages after she had me. She genuinely would not be alive if she didn't get proper medical care when she did. If she had another pregnancy, it WOULD have killed her.
