I think the Anakin we’re seeing in the WBW is the genuine article, and not from the past. The tone in Hayden Christensen’s line delivery gave me the impression that Anakin is simply manifesting in a form that Ahsoka would find familiar and comforting. It just fits better with where the series looks to be heading, i.e. Ahsoka finally being able to absolve her guilt over leaving the Jedi Order and Anakin so she can fully embrace the mantle of Jedi again and return to the physical word as Ahsoka the White.

Hopefully, she will get back a little more playfulness when some of her inner burdens are lifted. 8 months ago (edited) When I saw the world between worlds in episode 4 I didn't see this as a means to time travel, but to travel in distance, to a different universe. So Ashoka can follow the Eye of Sion without having to use the hyperjump ring, which would be impossible without the map anyway. 8 months ago I really hoped Star Wars wouldn't introduce Now playing Star Wars Jedi Survivor a multiversal element or alternate realities, or alter the timeline I liked how it was handled in Rebels, and hope they don't change that 8 months ago I really appreciate you pointing out how Ahsoka swinging to the opposite extreme regarding attachments is also really dangerous and can lead to being unbalanced. I feel like that was pretty clearly the point of how she's been portrayed in live action, and I wasn't sure how people missed it, especially since we see her slowly warm up, almost certainly against her will, as she spends more time with Hera and Sabine. It makes sense that she would cut herself off from people after everything, but that doesn't mean it's good for her, and I like seeing the story exploring it. Huyang said to stick together, and neither Sabine nor Ahsoka took him seriously because their ability to form healthy attachments has been severely damaged by everything that's happened to them. As a Star Wars fan who has watched Rebels, I appreciate your content and analysis. Also, you may want to see a doctor about the nosebleeds. I think that the World Between Worlds will allow Ahsoka and Anakin to look back on some of their past experiences together. They won't change the past of course, but maybe they will look through some of those portals and discuss some of their past experiences as they watch them in the portals. This would be a good opportunity to see "flashbacks" with a younger Ahsoka as they look through these portals. After some heartfelt and emotional discussion, I think Ahsoka will finally use one portal to reach her destination - not by doing time travel, but simply using a portal to allow her to travel through space so she can be where she needs to be. Prior to her appearance in Mandalorian S2, the last time we saw Ahsoka was when she found out with certainty that her former master, quite possibly the only person she has ever truely trusted and respected other than Plo Koon/Rex and the like, had become a mass murdering monster. She was in denial until then. So yeah, we never got to see how that was going to effect her going forward. It always made sense to me too that she would become more withdrawn and probably blame herself for not being there for Anakin in his darkest hour. She. Needs. This. Confrontation. With. Anakin!

I’ll just throw out that as someone who has watched (and rewatched) all the animated series, it’s seemingly not just the perception that it’s a kids show due to the shows being animated, but also the time commitment to make it through the series, that holds people back. I love the animated series, as they contain many of my favorite characters and Star Wars moments. There are, however, a lot of episodes, and some are not engaging for anyone but the most die hard of star wars fans (a few droid-focused clone wars arcs come to mind).

3-time @MCLegoboy So as for Ahsoka winding up in the World Between Worlds where there isn't a designated portal, I have to imagine that this is the Force intervening or that portals are not the only way to enter it. Dave Filoni has mentioned that the episodes "Wolves and a Door" and "The World Between Worlds" were not actually the first time we saw it, we saw it when Ezra got his kyber Crystal and again when talking to Yoda, and he was not strictly manifesting the portal like how we saw with the mural and following the paintings of the wolves. I also cite when Ezra grabs Ahsoka because with where she is, if there needed to be a designated spot, it's literally floating in the air, it's not even connected to the Sith structure or part of the cavern walls. And let's say that Ezra could have reached back to save Kanan, where is that portal on Lothal? It's hovering in the air above a fuel tank. Now those are instances of someone from within the World Between Worlds grabbing someone else, we still don't know how Ahsoka gets there from Seatos, but we very much see that she's alone unless we suddenly see Morai flying around inside in Part Five. We also don't even know how she gets around, but if we do assume that she's some reincarnated version of The Daughter as it is theorized by Lord Hydan to Sabine, then someone with that level of power could possibly create their own portals wherever they want, we really don't know. While it would make sense for there to be portals in places like Mortis, Seatos, Malachor, and Lothal, we've only ever seen one strict portal from the outside, and anything else that happens or could be affected isn't located in a conventional way like the wolf portal on Lothal, they just seem to appear wherever with no hard restrictions like being against a structure. And this is where it being a realm of the Force comes into play. Since nothing can be changed that isn't supposed to happen, I have to imagine that The Force itself directs who can and cannot even enter the World Between Worlds, hence why Sidious struggles so much with it and why even though we do see that the wolves have stopped moving that even just milliseconds before those Stormtroopers chasing Ezra probably wouldn't have been granted access, but that's just my theorizing. This also explains why Palpatine's lightning flames splash against the portal back to Malachor instead of through it, they were not just stopped because they hit an object, the Force closed the portal. This would also be why Ezra is allowed to reach through the portal on Malachor and rescue Ahsoka even though it's not really backed up against anything. The closest thing is the spires that held the Sith Holocron for a moment, but again, even those were floating and looked a bit too far back from where Ezra could snag Ahsoka from Vader. And although we never see where Ahsoka lands specifically after leaving the World Between Worlds, it seems to me like it would be all the way back down on the ground since everything was collapsing when she was taken, she must be back slightly later after Vader has left and everything has stabilized, and that portal must have moved to where it would give her a safe landing; the Force making sure that she is where she's supposed to be. So I think you are onto something, there's a reason why Ahsoka after being thrown off the cliff's edge on Seatos, and I have to say that it's divine intervention from the Force because she's seen to be completely alone. If Morai was there, I feel like she would have been pecking at Ahsoka to wake her up. Anakin also doesn't appear until after we see that she is completely alone. I'm not saying I have the answer, but right now it seems very likely to me that the Force has willed her survival. What if this is Anakin after the Son showed him the vision of the future but BEFORE his memory was erased? Who knows! I just love it when Dave gets all weird and mystical with the Force!

How I see it, since it’s all mystical and weird, it’s that each of these places are different “realms” of the force and the embodiments of it, like the WBW is the realm of time and space, Mortis is the realm of balance and in some ways even conflict, and so on Basically, they’re all extremely mystical, otherworldly places all existing as facets of the force itself

It is 100% time travel, even if it is different than time travel that most of us are used to and is a closed loop (you aren’t changing anything). I assume that changes that can be made to time through World Between Worlds are limited to events that could fit within Bootstrap Paradoxes as from that realm, time would be able to be viewed from "a non linear, non subjective viewpoint" (not necessarily as "a big ball of wibbily-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff" but close enough to it), whereas something like saving Kanan would cause a Grandfather Paradox as there would be no one to save the other characters, and thus the version of Ezra wouldn't be able to travel into the World Between Worlds and try to save Kanan. Presumably the same as the early Terminator films approach rather than being as flexible as Doctor Who but since Huyang is voiced by David Tennant, now seemed like an appropriate place to quote the 10th Doctor's monologue from Blink.
@MCLegoboy Жыл бұрын
The safest way to look at it is: If the story has been told in Star Wars, no matter where it takes place on the timeline, it can't be altered. Anything else is fair game and thus becoming a story told in Star Wars and cannot be changed.

Closed loop time travel vs multiverse time travel. I really hope they stay with closed loop - we've seen too much multiverse stuff lately and it gets really messy. Not that it can't with closed loop. I'm gonna maniphest my inner Joseph Scrimshaw and say that the decisions people make in Star Wars is the heart of the story, so any chance to do-over or change anything (or the other extreme of saying we have no free-will) would have to be handled really delicately to not wreck the story. I think D. Filoni gets that more than anyone. My prediction is that Anakin is a force ghost, they CGI'd him because of comments after Kenobi, that him and Ahsoka are finally gonna get some closure with each other and that I'm gonna puff up and cry.

I read the thumbnail text in Obi-Wan's voice (which, granted, may have been the intention). Neatly done explanation! I think it's unsurprising that where this gets most complicated is with the question of time travel. So I hope the handling of the WBW in Ahsoka is in line with its handling in Rebels, and I trust Filoni to do that. I really like the idea that what you perceive there depends on what you take with you, because it ties well to other things we've seen and thus the WBW works as a manifestation of the Force. As an aside (relating to a question from the livestream), this is also my take on the venture into the Lothal temple in Shroud of Darkness. I think the characters experiencing things there based on the resonance of their own experiences makes more sense (and is more meaningful) than the whole thing being orchestrated by Yoda.

I know that in Legends material the cave on Dagobah was attributed to a Sith having died there leaving a Dark side presence within it which is what allowed Yoda to remain there undetected (Dark and Light cancelling each other out). But with Henry Gilroy's words about it reflecting "only what you take with you", I wonder if in the new Canon the cave could be a portal or otherwise connected to the World Between Worlds? I'd also be curious if that's the case with the cave Rey enters in The Last Jedi.

Otherwise, I really hope they don't do anything massive with this. I feel like that Rebels episode was enough we needed, and with so many people wanting it to be a massive retconning device. I commented on your previous video that Anakin may had entered the world between worlds when he, Ahsoka & Kenobi encountered the Mortis. I was thinking perhaps one of the Mortis gods, (my feeling the Father) may have shown Anakin a portal, He may have explained Ahsoka’s need for his help either guiding her lost path or saving her from death. If Anakin entered there during the time in the Mortis, then he also would not have remembered as the father wiped his memory. Ahsoka also encounters a vision of her future self in the Mortis.

With all of this taking place post Return of the Jedi, after Anakin has died and become one with the force, I cant help but feel that the Anakin we see in the World Between Worlds is the force ghost that we saw in the end of the "special edition" of ROTJ. It feels like the easiest way to tie Ahsoka back to the prequels and the original trilogy; I also really just like the idea of seeing what a redeemed Anakin would have to say to his old padawan after all these years. If it is in fact redeemed Anakin, he would have knowledge of his son Luke and this could be where Ahsoka finds out about him, assuming this takes place before Book of Boba Fett in the timeline. I'm just excited and a little nervous about what they will end up doing.

Emotions of loss can lead to the dark side… This is exactly why Ahsoka was wary of training Sabine. I hope there will be a future episode we get to see a flashback explaining the loss of her Wren family and that the reason why they had a falling out before they reunited

Hey...quick question...did Yoda and Luke access the World between Worlds in TESB when Luke "saw the future" in his training...

The dark and ominous "clues" surrounding Anakin's appearance that we are assuming, as well as the Imperial March theme at the end, makes me think that it's a misdirect to get people's theories going and to create a buzz. So far this series has been a straight shooter. For example, Huyang's brutal honesty, Sabine (THANK GOD) not being able to move the cup, and the star of the show getting straight up defeated. They aren't treating the fans like oblivious children like they did with the sequels. Anakin said "Hey Snips" for a reason. That was Filoni's friendly wink to everyone who truly loves Star Wars through the thick and thin. They wouldn't be stupid enough to undermine that whole internet breaking moment. Plus, it would honestly just be disrespectful and rude. I'd feel stupid for having a happy cry over that scene. Ok, sorry... Back to why this is the real Anakin. Even though we are looking at light side Anakin before his fall, we must remember that a large part of who he is and his story/redemption/destiny is a yin-yang of light AND dark side that makes him so special and intriguing. He's human and naturally flawed like one, which is what makes him so relatable. Without him, Star Wars would be bland and more of a fairy tail type story. Anyway... (I'm bad at rambling too... so get ready.) We are looking at the World Between Worlds, a place that recognizes the union of space and time in a separate realm. And considering this is Sci-fi, we can't forget that science is heavily implied when they mention spacetime. Science does not recognize right and wrong or dark and light. Also, it's obvious that this realm does not treat time in a linear fashion. That being said, a popular sci-fi trope would explain that this is a place where events as we know them happening linearly, are actually happening in a mobius type strip of infinite/circular motion of always is and always was, with 2 sides/dimensions, but technically 1 in the same. (reminding me of the movie Arrival). So, I don't take the Imperial March as being a bad omen of things to come, but more of an explanation as to how the WBW works. It doesn't choose sides or favorites. Ezra and Ahsoka can access it just as well as Palps can. We learned in TLJ that the dark side of the force isn't inherently evil, but a necessary balance of life and death, growth and decay, that infinitely creates more life in a circular fashion. Also, I can't help but notice the many circling paths and lines that makeup the WBW's dimension. Although, one thing throwing me off is that Ezra heard all those Jedi voices when he was in there. Which makes me think... well damn, maybe the WBW IS a place bound to the light side of the force. I also just remembered that Palps could access it, but could never cross into it, besides the blue flames he shot into the portal. And we also saw Morai there waiting for Ezra as if she had been there all along like it were her home and she owns the place. And if Morai is the manifestation of The Daughter, then perhaps this really is a realm that was created by her or possibly The Father. If so, then why? What is its purpose? Is it where Jedi go when they die? But it can't be where they go to become a force ghost, because we learned that becoming a force ghost takes special training, like Qui-Gon did and later taught Yoda and Obi-Wan. Then again, maybe this is where a special few can go or can access it in order to learn that ability. A fun clue that I think points to all this having to do with Ahsoka becoming a force ghost, is that we have seen Obi-Wan and Yoda both disappear when they die. And I feel that the directing of the camera panning over to the waves crashing over the rocky depths where Ahsoka fell, was to show us that there was no body to be seen. She disappeared. Which leads me to think... about when Ezra pulled Ahsoka out before Vader's killing blow. Did Vader's perception of what happened look like he slashed her and she vanished like his fight with Obi-Wan on the Death Star? Or did he see her literally get pulled out of thin air by someone and disappear? If so, I bet that scene in ANH where he was pressing his foot down around Kenobi's cloak on the ground must have boggled the hell out of his mind for the 2nd time. Ok, ok... I know, I'm rambling. Here is my last relevant thought about the WBW. With powerful light, comes powerful dark. So, is it possible that there is an alternate realm created by the Son for Sith Lords like Darth Bane to go when they die? (search: "Well of the Dark Side" for a fun time) We've seen him show up in Clone Wars as a "force ghost"/spiritual entity. Wookieepedia states, "The followers of the dark side of the Force, such as the Sith, were incapable of learning this power ["force ghosting"], though there were many techniques open to them that offered similar benefits." I could go on and on... but I've nerded out enough already. Anyway, it's fun to theorize of course and it's one of my favorite joys of being a Star Wars fan, but this is starting to give me a headache! What do y'all think!? MTFBWY!!!

Since the Worlds Between Worlds was a very important part of the Rebels series, the last episode of the Ahsoka series could use it as a way for Ahsoka to move on from her previous vision in the void. She could get some advice from Anakin, then defeat Vader from the past before returning to defeat Thrawn.
@RedOlympus Жыл бұрын
What if it's not about literal time travel, but more like an intensified version of that moment when Luke telepathically reached out to Leia in Cloud City? Imagine Ahsoka didn't actually 'die' in 'Rebels' but had a deep mental connection with Ezra that made time feel almost irrelevant for her. This could explain extraordinary events without messing up the Star Wars canon. It's like they're tapping into a different level of consciousness, transcending the constraints of time and space. Kinda reminds me of when Yoda said he's been watching Luke his whole life. So it's not 'time travel,' just a profound Force connection

Alex, if you keep getting nose bleeds you should go get your blood pressure checked. Most pharmacies have a free machine that will do it. High blood pressure can cause spontaneous nose bleeds and other more dangerous health problems. Source, I’m an EMT. On another note I love your videos :)

Time travel. Since my first day on the job as a Starfleet captain I swore I'd never let myself get caught in one of these godforsaken paradoxes - the future is the past, the past is the future, it all gives me a headache. - Captain Janeway

I am excited as well. I hope this isn't the case but since Sidious was trying to get into there with Ezra in which he tried to lure Ezra but offering to reunite with his parents. This could be him showing what Ahsoka wants to see. I hope and doubt its the case but it has crossed my mind.

Well, I mean you can't exist in the middle of time and space forever. You got to choose a door eventually and go through what fate is on the other side. No matter what it re-creates or inevitably ruins, nothing will happen if you remain in fear in the between. You can't change anything but you must face the choices that await you on the other side of that door way you decide to choose. Or did the path choose you? Maybe the change you wish to make end up changing you.😈 _That's the beauty of chaos. As you know, madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little.......push._

I wonder if Ahsoka was able to enter the World Between Worlds because Ezra previously brought her there. Maybe not everyone can get there. But I agree with the concept of the WBW presenting an experience for each individual person. I'm still flabbergasted that we get to see it in live-action.

That’s definitely a corporeal Anakin. Likely an Anakin from an alternate timeline who somehow found the WBW or became so talented in his powers as the Chosen One that he can access the realm with ease.
@evilrellik Жыл бұрын
I was anticipating that the WBW wouldn’t be seen until Ezra made his appearance which would then imply he was rescued or at least found. Being near Seatos knowing that Purgil inhabit this area is an alternative conduit for the Path to Peridea(?). Ahsoka being the only Force sensitive could possible make the same connection with these creatures and Hyperspace to the other galaxy using the same method Ezra used. This seems like the most logical knowing that this space map/orb was destroyed. The next episode will be interesting for sure. And where is Morai?

Did Ahsoka fall into the portal or did Anakin see his her fighting Balor and like Ezra he reached in and grabbed her when she appeared to have been on the brink of death.

As someone who missed all the animated series' all these breakdowns are very helpful to just watch them before Ahsoka, so it's going to take awhile... am I the only one who thinks the World Between worlds could be the perfect retcon to erase the sequel trilogy and start again with the Hei to the Empire restructured to recreate the C'Baoth clone as maybe, Bayla Skoll(?) teaming up with Thrawn rather than all the mt tantis business, but back to the original themes of dark Jedi and genius of military conquest Ultimately following a dark path, as Thrawn nearly was in the Zahn novels.

Is it time travel though? I remember either Dave Filoni or Henry Gilroy specifically stating the World Between Worlds isn’t time travel in the Rebels Recon for that Rebels episode.

I wonder if like last time someone pulled Ahsoka into the World Between World, rather than her falling into it. Who pulled her in? I doesn't seem like it would be Anakin but maybe he did. Perhaps Anakins visit leads to Palpatine finding out about the World Between Worlds in the Clone Wars which in turns leads him to Lothal and what we saw in Rebels.

I think the Anakin we saw was the dark side essence of him, trapped and not aloud to rest in the cosmic force.

So what would happens if Ahsoka pulled Anakin from a portal with the force when she was in the wbw with Ezra(rebels) 🤔? Would it be possible since Vader was still alive at this time(Rebels) ?

I think of the world between worlds as physical manifestation of the cosmic, force. It’s where force sensitive people go when connecting with the cosmic force.

So are we just not gonna talk about how Anakin’s scar is missing on his right eye? Or at least, it is barely visible? 🤔This may be a force challenge for Ahsoka - the Dark Side tempting her or playing a trick on her. Cue Vader’s theme at the end…

I’m going to be honest I was more excited for the world between worlds than anokin. Anakin was spoiled. I knew he was in the show but this place. Na. I thought it was too hard of a concept. As even us who know about it have a hard time explaining it’s rules or how you even get to it

I wasn't surprised be either. I didn't get spoiled on Anakin, but I assumed they'd both be in the show.

Ithink only the portals in your own timeline are accesseble to step through like instant travel to your favorite beach, sinceEzra did not step through only janked someone from the otherside through it was allowed by the force, Ahsoka did step through the mirror inside her own timeline. And yes there could be a butterfly effect but in ahsoka's case she should have died on Malachor so no tsunami through time maybe a ripple

I think it’s pretty simple. I think this is how she remember him. Best, so this is how he appears. I feel like it’s going, to be one of those. It’s not your time yet things. You have to decide now. Is this the end. Or do you want to go back? Only you can decide. I’m here to prevent you with that decision. You can do Asoka. Just remember your training. Eliminated all outside distractions focus only on the enemy. Strength is no substitute for speed. That’s your advantage. Remember we talked about this. Obviously I’m guessing Anakin might say

...simple to understand... if you've ever watched Star Trek generations, the movie, there's a place called the nexus. It's very similar to this realm... even the rebels episode has the actor that played in that movie Malcolm, McDowell the blonde guy from the movie in Star Trek he ends up being so obsessed at getting back to the nexus.. but yes, they can exit the nexus at any moment they want.. it's a very similar place , time /space has. meaning

All the evidence would seem to suggest that it will be a time travel Anakin, but I really hope it's a force ghost Anakin. I want to see Anakin interact with Ahsoka and apologise, I also really want to see force ghost Anakin interact with Luke. I really wish they'd do live action shorts like tales of the Jedi and actually have Anakin somehow interact with Obi Wan through the force and have him say sorry and Obi Wan forgive him

If Ezra hadn’t pulled her out, Darth Vader was not going to kill her then. At least that is how I take it. Imagine that being the moment where he turns back to the light and Ezra effed it all up by fooling around with time and space in the World Between Worlds.

Everything Darth Vader and Anakin did during his life and death and current present in the Netherworld is a test because he is the chosen one to bring balance to the force as prophecy says and we will soon get a full explanation of what that meant . But I do think it will be that he replaces the Father as a Force God because right now that balance is broken .

Not "Terminator Rules," per se. "Terminator 1 rules." Also "Prisoner of Azkaban Rules" for my fellow Gen Z people. Terminator 2 does the whole "The Future is Not Yet Written" plotline which is cool and all, but I prefer how Terminator 1 follows that insane self-fulfilling prophecy angle where Kyle Reese is sent back in time to before he was ever born, to save his son John Connor who has not even been conceived yet. It's so mind bending but such a good plotline. Also, the idea that at some point before during the events of Episode III (I'd imagine after Anakin realizes Palpatine's Identity but before he talks to Windu), Anakin somehow entered the world between worlds and sought the advice of an older and wiser Ahsoka, and she had to knowingly let him make the wrong choices? Oof those emotional stakes are rough... Ahsoka knows she is creating incredible trauma for both her younger self and her close friend, Rex. Ahsoka knows she is killing ten thousand Jedi. Reva and Kanan and Cal and so many Jedi survivors had their lives torn apart by Vader, and Ahsoka will have no choice but to let Anakin make the wrong choices for himself, for her, and for the whole galaxy... Mmm, that's some good drama. I love a story with that kind of drama. Even if it kind of ruins "the Padawan Lives" moment (how could he be surprised she survived if he met an adult version of her 15 years earlier?) I'm willing to accept that in exchange for the drama of Ahsoka having the chance to save Anakin but being unable to take it... Edit: wow same exact thoughts as the video lol

So I re-watched last night w/ headphones on & when the transition from the waves to tWBWs happens I could faintly make out… “Ahsoka, can you hear me?” then less clearly but I think… “follow the voices” It seems like it would be Anakin’s voice but it’s very faint so I’m far from positive. 🤷♂️
