Great places to visit for sure Jim but it looks like too much traffic for me.......Fall may be better..........really unique places though.............similar to the road to Tofino.....if you ever have done that one............as you say it would have been nice to spend some extended time in the Black Hills...........never enough time..........oh thats too hot...........
@OldGuyonaBike2 күн бұрын
On a 3 month trip, one needs to watch the heat trends. I certainly did not want to be in the south west in August but I did not want to tackle Beartooth Pass in early July. Did not get out to Tofino... but that's for later. Did ride some great roads in BC though.

Thank you for sharing. I thought about going out there and doing that what you do but being that they charged for it I won’t be going.
@OldGuyonaBike2 күн бұрын
I don't mind an entrance fee to go towards the upkeep of most things... just thought Needles was a little high.
@davidallen32842 күн бұрын
One of the things that strikes me about some of your videos, Jim, is that even though I’ve been over the same roads myself, I don’t seem to remember having seen half of what you have captured. I’ve been through Needles Highway at least twice over the past 40 years (most recently only 8 years ago) and yet was amazed by much of what your video shot! I’m telling myself that the intense focus required for negotiating such twisty roads doesn’t necessarily leave enough grey matter to remember every inch of the road itself. …. ‘Course, I will be 78 in another couple of months, so …… 🥴
@OldGuyonaBike2 күн бұрын
Old grey matter still matters. I had not thought of that before. You are right, there are times when I am editing that I see things more clearly than when I was there. I certainly get a clearer understand of my day and the rides when I start editing. Gets me through the winter months for sure.

@@OldGuyonaBike By the time I hung up my helmet, at age 75, I had at least become a proficient user of - and chronically dependent on - GPS technology, but even the basic GoPro recorders were still alien to me, so I unfortunately have no videos of my own to look back on. It’s a Boomer Bummer.

This was the 2nd time I was though here and both time a week before the rally. I would not go to see the Black Hills during rally week. I think I would just sip beer on main street and watch the bikes and the girls lol.

LiPo is short for lithium -ion polymar(?) battery. The brand I had bought was Eco-Worthy. If I had entered from the other end I would not have had to pay. No one at that gatehouse. I made the mistake of entering through the main gat of the park. It still was an awesome day.

Thank you for your opinion but from time to time I will mention things that will not jive with everyone else's thoughts. Or their taste in music. Or the fact that they think I should get a trike. It won't be often. I won't be blowing any political trumpets but as long as I am riding and making videos, some of my thoughts and opinions will come out.

I recognize every inch of those wonderful roads. We met the original craftsman artist back in 1970. My wish is to live long enough to see crazy horse complete.😊 yes Trump is bent on destroying America. I just hope canada fights back hard. Needles is fun. Blackhills is unmached

The Blackhills are certainly special. I can understand why the Native Americans thought they were sacred. It would have been great to meet Ziolkoski. I think it will take several lifetimes to see it complete. It was a great day.
